Author has written 1 story for Phantom of the Opera. To date, I reckon I've read over 600 works of fanfiction in the Phantom of the Opera fandom, to which I must add 15 or so in the Temeraire, Temeraire/Sense and Sensibility (a hoot, I assure you) and Naomi Novik's Uprooted fandoms. I'm in the process of writing a novel-length Phantom of the Opera story, but I suspect publication is a long time away - 20,000 words written, but probably 10 times that to go, plus a few more hours of research needed to get the period details right. Meantime, however, I will continue reading others', with delight and curiosity. As a phan, I have a preference for Leroux!verse, though I like Kay!verse stories too, and a good ALW!stage story is always welcome. Gerik, however, is not for me. Neither is an underage Christine. I read a lot of Victorian fantasy/Gothic in my mis-spent youth, both in French and in English, which has made me a bit of a stickler for period details - including gender politics and social conventions - as well as period-appropriate language. Recently I've found myself enjoying modern AUs too. I read (a lot) and write (somewhat less) as part of my job. It's therefore a joy and a relief to read something different, and for fun! |
