Welcome to my profile. I hope you came because you want to give me a chance as your beta. Before you contact me, there are some things you should know.

I used to have so many stories on here, but I've deleted them. They were written when I was around 11, I wanna say? They do not reflect my current writing skills at all. I have, however, left two stories up because they were the first ones I felt very committed to at one point. I even tried to re-write one about 5 or 6 years ago. I only say this so that you don't go looking at those stories thinking that they can give you a feel for what I can do. They can't, it's simply been too long.

You are welcome to read the stories I have here, but I wouldn't recommend it. There are from a little cartoon I was obsessed with when I was a kid called The Winx Club. It's what got me started with writing fanfiction. It and the many, many people who encouraged me to continue. I leave it up for nostalgia, mostly. I also need a certain word count to even have a beta profile on here. They're both incomplete works and I probably won't continue them. Be warned: They are horribly written. :D I started writing them when I was 11ish. But everyone starts somewhere, right?

I can do all of the following:

- Proofreading (grammar and punctuation)

- Plot, pacing and continuity

- Characterization

- General style

- In-text comments

-Suggestions/sounding board

-Inspiration and encouragement (Always included!)

*Please note that I work in American English. Let me know if you are writing in another dialect, such as British or Canadian. If none is specified I'll give it my best guess.

I usually do full edits, where I go over every sentence. I take a lot of time to read and re-read each piece and leave a good amount of suggestions on each page. Full edits are what you will want if you want me to check for grammar, pacing, and flow of each sentence.

I can also do overall comments, where I read the piece/chapter and only give comments at the end. These comments are typically more general and I am much quicker at getting the piece back to you.

Most people go with full edits since they want me to check for grammar. But if you feel like your piece has a good hold on that, then overall comments might be best for you. If asked, I will point out any grammar mistakes I happen to come across, they just won't be nearly as thorough if I were doing full edits.

I will beta any rating and any genre. The only thing I’d be hesitant to beta would be A/B/O dynamics, simply because I have zero knowledge of it.

I prefer to use Word and its “Track Changes” function to do my edits. Google Docs also works. While I am your beta, we can keep in touch in any way and however often you’d like. E-mail, tumblr and Fanfiction.net are all good ways we can keep in touch if you have any questions about my edits.

*I’m also sticking mostly to shorter works, like fanfiction or original short stories. I’d classify short pieces as being UNDER 4k words. I’m not against beta reading longer works, but I ask that you send me it in chapters or segments so that I am not stress-rushing through it all and can have a bit of a break in-between. :)

You CAN send me a long piece all at once, but be advised that this method will take me the longest to get it back to you, unless all you want are overall comments.

*I do not beta read full-length novels with the intent to professionally publish.

Turnaround Time

For shorter pieces (4k words) I will usually get those back to you within a week from the date you send me your piece. If I take longer than that, I will send you an update. The same turnaround applies to longer pieces that are sent one chapter/section at a time if they are under the 4k limit.

For longer pieces, time will vary depending on the length and the level of edits/comments you would like. I probably won’t be able to give you an exact timetable.

If you have a time restraint then consider asking for overall comments and provide targeted questions for me to answer. You can ask for details about this when you contact me.

*While I realize that this is fanfiction, I still always try to beta to how my impression of an editor would (I'm not a professional, though I do have experience copy editing for a publication) because then if you do want to take your writing to a more professional level, it's good practice. That's the main reason why I prefer shorter pieces, it's easier to be more thorough (reading and re-reading) in a shorter piece in a shorter amount of time than it is with a much longer piece. I may not have time to re-read longer pieces.

After You've Received Your Feedback

When you get your piece back with my comments and suggestions, it is completely up to you to decide if you want to keep any of them. However, if you have any questions about my edits or if you want me to take a second look at a particular section then feel free to contact me again. I encourage you to start up a conversation about your piece because that way you will get the best beta experience I can provide. I especially encourage it if you have submitted a long piece because with those I am bound to miss some things. However, this is completely optional.

About Me

I am 26 years old. I'm a recent Creative Writing grad school graduate. When I’m not working at my job, I have some spare time that I’d like to use by gaining some extra experience in writing and editing.

My main ship is stony, just to get that out there. I love the Marvel fandom, even did a RP blog as Steve Rogers on tumblr for a few months. But definitely open to other ships as well, this one is just my favorite.

My other fandoms include Harry Potter, BBC Sherlock and Batman.

For anime, my favorites are Full Metal Alchemist, Yu Yu Hakusho, Inuyasha, Code Geass, My Hero Academia, Yuri on Ice and Junjo Romantica.

My favorite TV shows are The Vampire Diaries and its spin-offs, Supernatural, Jane the Virgin, and Once Upon a Time, to name a few.

Not so much for video games, I’m afraid. I do play Fire Emblem Heroes and know a lot about Fire Emblem Awakening. I’ve also played the first Kingdom Hearts and the Smash Bros series.

I don’t watch many cartoons either, but a couple of my longtime favorites are Avatar: The Last Airbender and Teen Titans.

*If you contact me and it turns out that I am not familiar with your fandom, then it’s really up to you whether or not you’d like me to beta your work. If you want someone who is familiar with it, then I’m sorry, I don’t think I can help. But if all you need is some proofreading then it won’t matter whether or not I’m familiar with it. It’s up to your preferences and needs.
