Author has written 3 stories for Harry Potter, and Criminal Minds. Hello! My name is DollhouseDancer and I love to write. I am a big fan of the Harry Potter series, and I've found that my favourite character is Draco Malfoy. I think that he is one of the most realistic characters with a truly interesting story line that leaves me wanting to know more! About me: Well really, I'm not sure if I'm all that interesting! I'm a university student who lives in Canada. I recently had the chance to take a Children's Literature course in which we studied lots of interesting books, including Philosopher's Stone, which was pretty exciting. I love to write and have a lot of original fiction that I am working on, and my goal is to have a manuscript for one of my stories completed by the end of the year. I'm some weird cross between a Hufflepuff and a Slytherin, meaning that I am really nice, kind, and loyal, but if you treat someone I care about badly I will ruin you. I'm also a huge fan of the Oxford comma, because without it things just get weird. Case in point, "She took a photograph of the strippers, Hitler and Stalin." No one wants to see that. I started writing The Boy Who Got Away to give myself a break from my own work and to help refine my writing. My own style is a good deal different from J.K. Rowling's (I tend to write in the third person omniscient and fairly formally) and I figured that imitating another style would help me to relax and to expand my horizons. And it did! I feel much more comfortable writing third person close now that I have some experience with it, and I can see a definite improvement in my writing skills. I want to thank everyone who read this story, because without you I wouldn't have pushed through to the end. I am legitimately stunned by the response that it has received; I expected that maybe a handful of people would read it, but now it has well over 100 followers and plenty of others who are reading it regularly! Your reviews and responses have given me so much encouragement, not just for this story, but for my writing skills in general. For someone who is incredibly shy and hesitant to share my writing this has made a huge difference, and I feel so much more confident about my own fiction as a result of it. So thank you again to everyone who has read and enjoyed Harry Potter and The Boy Who Got Away! Please feel free to leave a review or to message me with your thoughts about it. I love hearing it all, the good, the bad, and the ugly, because critique is the best way to grow and to become better. Oh also, because I'm really proud of it: the Dark Mark that I used as the picture for The Boy Who Got Away is on my arm. My left arm. I drew it there myself using stage makeup. Which is especially impressive when you realize I'm left handed! |
