Author has written 3 stories for Silent Hill. WILL I EVER BE BACK? WHO KNOWS? Just a little note: Though I did the fingerwork to create the one novelization and two unfinished (hopefully not forever) novelizations, the characters, stories, scenarios, and so forth (most of these, anyway) are of course, not my property. Obviously, you say, this is FanFiction.net, and I don't write slash or self-insertion. That means, there are copyrights. In the past, I have asserted control over the parts which are my own work. As it has been over five years since the novel has been finished, I'm doing the Creative Commons thing. I'm not entirely sure how it applies to a somewhat complicated situation like fan-derivative works, but what this means is that, henceforth, I am giving open consent to the contents of the novelization being published, in part or in full, however and wherever you please as long as you're not doing something silly like selling copies for profit (you'd have to fear Konami there, not me). All I ask in return is that you attribute its authorship to me, because I like seeing my name on things. You don't have to ask ahead of time if you want to do this, but I do still enjoy the fact that people like it enough to do things like that, so if you leave me a note on here letting me know where you're putting it up, you'll make one of my days! Regarding the re-write: I don't know if I'm ever going to finish it. It's a conflict for me because, on one hand, the 2006 edition is, to me anyway, an example of me when I was at a much earlier stage of development. There are many things about it that just irritate the hell out of me when I read over it now, not the least of which is my belief that profanity was the most effective way to emphasize things. Of course, today I'm much more apt to bloat things up with description but hey. It sometimes bothers me that this old work stands as the only example most people have of my work. On the other hand, I have tried, twice, to re-do it, and I just don't know if I can go through the whole thing again. Doing so was retreading the same ground, and I felt it the whole time. The fun and excitement I felt the first time just wasn't there, even though I was making prose I liked much more. I'm working on several original works which take up most of my time and creative energy as well, so I don't know which way this balance will tip in the future. The fact is, Silent Hill 2 is a ten-year old game and most people know it backwards, forwards and sideways now. All that said, even though I've not done much on here in the last five years, I still get notifications every few days indicating that someone enjoys Letter From Silent Heavenand I want to say that I appreciate every kind word and expression of approval. I also appreciate every criticism and expression of disapproval, especially because the farther behind me this thing gets, the more I tend to agree with the criticism, and even if you don't like the story, you took the time to read it and I can't ask for anything more.
