Author has written 19 stories for G. I. Joe.

Thank you for checking out my profile page!

(Praying and hoping and believing for an end to the Covid-19.)

Several years ago, I rediscovered Sunbow's GI Joe. Online of all things! I very much enjoyed revisiting my old Joe childhood friends and then came across fan fiction. (I was a bit slow...) It was a lot of fun reading all the wonderful stories submitted and I eventually got up the nerve to try my own. After my first tentative story, I was off and away!

Hard to believe I now have almost 20 stories posted!

I'm just a mom, but I love to write. I dabbled with it a bit in the past, and then for years, life just kept me too busy. My kids are finally at the ages where I have a bit more time for myself...I bet you can guess what I plan to do with that time, LOL.

Of all the Joes, my favorites are Flint and Lady Jaye, hands down. I suppose that's why they feature in so many of my stories. But, there are many other Joes that I like, as well. I am finding that as I write more, these other characters begin to rise to the front of my imagination. Sometimes, they feature in the next story, such as what happened with Lifeline in Musings. I do always try to capture the essence of their character, whoever they are, according to their Sunbow characterizations when I put them in a story. Sometimes, I feel like I get it right, other times not. Apologies when I don't. Feel free to steer me in the right direction.

I write Joe stories for my own entertainment, and hopefully yours. And with each story, my goal is to improve as a writer. I see each new story I write as a challenge to be won, like moving another rung higher up a ladder. A lot of time and thought (and often research) is put into each one. So any review, comment, or constructive criticism is always welcomed. It helps me measure the progress I am making, and helps me set my goals for the next. :)

Please note: I will not write anything I would not let my own kids read, language or content wise. My stories tend to fall in the conservative "K--T" range.

My Stories: (listed from oldest to most recent)

Mission Japan - My first Joe story...What more can be said.

All Quiet in the Pitt - A Joe Vs. Cobra cartoonish story (Featuring Scarlett and Lady Jaye) I always like putting those two together.

A Change of Heart - Lady Jaye and Admiral Ledger meet again, head to head, stubborn to stubborn.

The Success of Cobra? Another Joe Vs. Cobra cartoonish story. Cobra actually creates something that works. (only they don't realize it)

The Makings of a New Team - My first attempt at a longer story. Retells the Joe story, how the Joes became Joes from the earliest Joe days (Sunbow). Also follows the coming together of Flint and Lady Jaye.

All The Ways We are Family: A Christmas Toast - This came from a dream I had of Lady Jaye receiving a Christmas card from Destro. I explored the idea a bit and this is what came...backstory on their family connection.

At What Cost - A short introspective piece, exploring the sacrifice of self for others. (Lady Jaye and others)

Lady Down - Follows the same story line as All the Ways We Are Family...Lady Jaye confronts Destro and their familial connection face to face, with not unexpected results.

Musings of a Medic - My second long story. I decided to write about a lesser known character. Lifeline rose to the occasion. Introduced as 'the new guy', he slowly becomes a part of the family, the Joe Family...written in first person.

Reluctant Heroes - My attempt at a piece capturing a bit of my own childhood nostalgia. Did any of you ever play Joes as kids? Come on, admit it. Some of you did, I know.

Of Dreams and White Dresses - A short piece... I had a picture of Lady Jaye staring wistfully at a dress in the window of a dress shop...it wouldn't leave me alone.

Dusty's Desert - Another attempt at a longer story, this time with another lesser known character: Dusty. I had a lot of fun exploring the desert with him, doing a lot of research on desert survival...believe me I learned a lot! I hope you will too. Go Dusty!

Lights in the Dark - A lot going on in my life, not much time to write but I still want to...and I get little scenes from time to time...so these are one shots of Lady Jaye and Flint. Maybe I can incorporate them into longer stories later... This one will remain incomplete as I may just add a new scene from time to time as they come.

Amusings of a Medic - Another Lifeline story. This one goes a little deeper into his personal life, introduces Bree, and the challenges of being a Joe medic. Lifeline is called upon to be part of secret mission to stop Cobra's latest deadly scheme. Hawk, Lady Jaye and Scarlett round out the main players in this one.

The Christmas Truce - Just a one shot that came to me one day. The title says it all.

Welcome Home - Back to Flint and Lady Jaye--This one goes along with All The Ways We are Family: A Christmas Toast and Lady Down. Just my imaginative take on the family connection between Lady Jaye and Destro.

OffStar - This one's been in my head for a while. Mary McDonald, the voice actress of Lady Jaye for Sunbow's GI Joe, was also the voice for General Motors' OnStar. I began wondering--what if Cobra decided to have an "onstar" voice in their vehicles? What if the voice featured a Joe? A short, experimental, piece.

Ship Wrecked - Lady Jaye and Shipwreck never really hit it off. And whenever they are paired up in a mission, sparks are bound to fly. But, what does she really think about Shipwreck?

All That Glitters - You never know where a spark of inspiration can come from. I've had a dream floating around my head for some time. Then Lady Jaye's voice took it and made it hers. This became "All that Glitters." Lady Jaye and Dusty set out on a secret mission for the Joes. A dream comes to her, and she is filled with misgivings. The story plays out with loss, but the gains are greater.

"There is a written scroll! I’ll read the writing.

All that glistens is not gold;"

Shakespeare, Merchant of Venice

I was dissatisfied with some of the original versions of my early stories, so I went back and rewrote them

Revisions include:

Mission: Japan

All Quiet in the Pitt

The Success of Cobra?

Feel free to PM me if you have question or comment. I will try to respond. Thank you, everyone, for reading and following along. Thank you also for every review, fav and follow.

* And one last note to all you considering writing your own stories. Go For It!!!! Why not? Writing is a great way to relieve stress while doing something creative and FanFic is a great place to post those efforts. In Japanese we'd say: GANBATTE!!!!!
