Zuko freezes and a slow, dawning realization comes over him about what his sister really is; what his father must have realized her to be. In which Booker DeWitt comes to the city of Columbia in an attempt to clear his name, only to find that his past is inextricably tied to that of the city, and that fate has a way of sneaking up at the worst possible times. Or, an AU rewrite in which questions are answered, underused characters are given their due, and the Lutece twins can't help but snark at everything Booker says.

Spoiler for end-game. In an infinite set of multiverses, infinite possibilities await. But is change tied to the person, the world, or the hand of cards dealt by fate? A gamble sends Booker DeWitt back at the beginning of it all...but this time around, he knows, the Lutece Twins aren't there and...sometimes, a second chance is all it takes to make things right.

The Songbird wasn't just any other machine. It had to not just protect Elizabeth, it had to want to protect her. It had to love her. This was a difficult problem to solve, however the people in the other world built their protectors and called them "Daddies." Perhaps the Bird could be fueled by a father's love.

Booker DeWitt realizes that what he owes his daughter may be much more than what he is about to accomplish. If all the suffering Comstock can cause has already been left in his wake, then there may actually be time to mend his relationship with Anna.

Post Game: When little Anna Dewitt goes missing in the park one day, Booker finds himself reunited with someone he never thought to see again. Someone who drowned him in the river, and gave him the second chance he knew he didn't deserve.
