Author has written 11 stories for Twilight. TWILIGHT DIVERSITY CONTEST Hi! Mich and Tamara here. Through a conversation on diversity, an idea for a Twilight Diversity Contest was born. Twilight brought us to this amazing fandom, where we have become lifelong friends with people from all over the world. We love learning about all different cultures and decided to bring our love of learning and our passion for reading together. Non-American writers, this is your chance to write about what you know. Bring what you love about Twilight to your back yard, if you'd like. American writers, we want to hear from you too, but now it's your turn to research Edward and Bella's home. (Any pairing is welcome; we used E/B as an example). If you want to write it, we want to read it. So get writing! Please help us keep it anonymous. Because of the nature of this contest's theme, we ask you not to make any announcement that you have entered. We would love for all to promote the contest as a whole, but without divulging that you have entered. The only people who should know you have entered are your betas, pre-readers, and our Secret Keeper. Entries must include at least one MAIN character who was born and raised outside of America. The majority of the setting must be outside of America. The country chosen for the setting must exist in our world (no fictional countries.) Entries may feature any pairing, slash, supernatural elements, alternate universe, or all-human. Entries must be one-shots or short stories that stand alone. Entries that include smut/lemons or any other mature content must be rated M. (Smut/lemons are not a requirement). Entries must be original, previously unpublished, and may not be published elsewhere throughout the duration of the contest. The breaking of this rule will result in disqualification. Stories may be published to your own account and continued only after all the awards have been announced. Entries must be between 5,000 and 15,000 words, not including the header or any word translations that are not written within the body of the story. Translations included in the body of the story will count toward overall wordcount. All entries must be beta'd and meet minimum grammar, punctuation, and spelling standards. If you do not have a beta, we will provide emergency beta services on a first come, first serve basis. Because of this site's limitations, entrants who require line breaks within the body of the story should use a period. If other characters are used as line-breaks, they will be changed by our admin. before posting. This is for ease and uniformity. Collaborations are welcome, but no more than two entries per person will be accepted. Submissions that do not meet these standards will be rejected. Please note that the final decision of accepting or rejecting an entry rests with the hosts. We don't want to reject or disqualify anyone, so please read over the rules and limitations carefully. Feel free to ask questions if anything is unclear. CONTENT LIMITATIONS: No rape (no scenes or gratuitous details of rape), incest, bestiality, or pedophilia will be accepted. No real person fiction will be accepted. Entries that include these qualities will be rejected. We will make no exceptions. SUBMISSIONS: All submissions must contain the following header: Author name: E-mail address: FFN profile page link: Facebook Username (if applicable) Twitter username (if applicable) Title of Story: Story Summary: Pairing: Rating: Beta: Word Count (not including summary, header, or footnoted word translations): Disclaimer: The author does not own any publicly recognizable entities herein. No copyright infringement is intended. Entries should be in Microsoft word doc or Gdocs format and e-mailed to twilightdiversitycontest@ for validation. Once it is validated and approved, it will be posted to this profile. In order to help maintain anonymity, stories will be uploaded in clusters. |
