Author has written 3 stories for Beauty and the Beast, 2012. “A short story is a different thing all together - a short story is like a kiss in the dark from a stranger.” Writing is one of my most beloved hobbies and hope to make it more than just a hobby someday. I decided to delve into some fanfic for the first time recently due to my love for the romantic couple from the CW series Beauty and the beast and the long hiatus this show has taken. Among other genre's, I enjoy writing romance because through strong human connection comes self discovery - which makes for great character building and exploration in writing! I intend on adding a few stories to my collection so stay tuned if you like what you read. I've also read a little of what is on here. There are heaps of great story lines and writing styles. Well done beasties! For anyone interested, here are some writing tips I've learnt along the way through study and practice that I think might be helpful on here to make these lovely stories even easier to read (I'll add to these): -always stay in past tense if that's the tense you've chosen, rather than switching to present tense at times. -it's fantastic if you have a vast vocabulary or use synonyms to avoid repeating words. But remember that character dialog shouldn't consist of fancy words. Most people don't talk so poetically. We use simple, straight forward colloquial language, and if used right makes a better impact than a thesaurus. -sometimes you can portray a characters feelings through what they said or how they move/behave. This saves you from actually describing every emotion as well. |
