So, I overuse the word 'so.'

A little about me:

I'm a mad twenty-something, who has spent far too much of my life writing about fictional cute lesbians. Any constructive criticism of my writing is welcome, though trying to complain about points of grammar may lead to me having to be clever at you :p. Also, I use UK spellings, so any complaints about that will not colour me impressed, nor shall they be honoured with anything more than a taste of your own medicine.

That's another thing about me, I'm just a little bit of a sarcastic git, but you can excuse me that, I hope.

One other thing, if you be looking for smut, you shall find none here. I want my stories to be liked on merit, not on my poor attempts to describe lesbians doing their thing.

A while back, somebody made a comment about my RWBY character names not meeting the colour rules. So naturally, I went through and wrote out where they all came from.

Yes, yes I did.

Team AEGX (Aegis: Golden, or bronze, as the depictions of the Aegis):

Each member is associated with daylight/day/dawn, in one way or another.

Aelius Krios:

Aelius: Latin version of 'Helios,' Greek god of the Sun.

Krios: Greek titan of constellations and, by extension, the measure of years.

Colour: Gold

Eleanor Sophia:

Eleanor: 'Shining Light'

Sophia: From the Gnostic Aeon of the same name, meaning 'Wisdom.' Ironic, I know...

Colour: White

Galina Day:

Galina: Latin version of Helen/Helena, meaning 'torch' or 'Moon,' and also referring to Helen of Troy.

Day: as in the period of time.

Colour: Yellow

Xin Hua:

Xin (信): 'Faith' or 'Trust.'

Hua (華): For the holy mountain, from which it is traditional to watch the Sun rise. Among other meanings are 'Magnificent, Flashy and Prosperous.'

Note: this name can have a ton of different meanings, depending on the characters used and the readings. Also, he uses Western name order, unlike Lie Ren, but like the Xiao Longs.

Colour: White (as the stone of the mountain).

Team AHCL (Acre: brown, as an acre of land or the castles of the crusader city):

Argent Rose-Schnee:

Argent: Silver (Latin).

Full name literally 'Silver Snow-Rose.'

Colour: Silver, or pink.

Hari Belladonna:

Hari: Yellow, brown or tawny, and by extension monkey, lion or horse. Uses her mother's surname. Colour: Brown.

Claudia Krios:

Claudia: From the Claudius, the family name of several Roman Emperors.

Colour: Purple (The royal colour of Rome).

Lance Xiao Long:

Lance: Land (Germanic), or the weapon (from French).

Full name literally 'Little Land Dragon' or 'Little Dragon Lance.'

Colour: Flame Red

Aetha Krios:

Aetha: From 'Aether,' which referred, in Greek Mythology, to a pure form of air, or the primordial being who embodied air.

Colour: Now here's a complicated one. The phrase 'into the aether' always makes me this of sunsets, especially the pink area above a sunset. Hence, pink, though she could also be green (for wind/air), or colourless (as the chemical compound commonly called 'ether'... which I will say I pronounce 'eth-er', differently from 'Aether' 'ee-ther').

Secundus Krios (Oh god the etymology...):

Secundus: 'Second,' as in the unit of time. 'Second' derives from 'Second Minute...' probably... I think... The short version is that 'second' the unit of time derives from 'second' the ordinal after first. So his name is actually an accurate reference to both the unit of time and the fact that he is the second son and child of Aelius and Galina. It is also a reference to a certain boss from a certain game...

Colour: Gold, as time dust.

Photius Krios:

Photius: 'A scholarly man,' or 'light.'

Colour: Yellow.

Taiyo Wukong:

Taiyo: 'Sun,' (similar to 'Taiyang'). Uses his father's surname (giving his full name the same meaning as Sun's).

Colour: Gold/Yellow

Biron Lambert:

Biron: 'Spear'

Lambert: Land

Colour: Brown (of earth)
