"Birth of a Monster" won a judge's choice for Mediaminer's Sacrificial Spring Contest 2006, basically fourth place :) "Monster" is a wonderful adult anime, drawn and written realistically about the hunt for a serial killer.

"A Winter's Flight" - won second place in Mediaminer's Winter Fantasy Contest 2005. First original story I've written in a very very long time. Anyone interested can check it out here: http:///fanfic/view_st.php/114979/Someone claiming to be a teacher contacted me to see if I'm the original writer of "A Winter's Flight." Apparently his student claims he/she wrote it four years ago with help from a relative and tutor! I wrote it a year and a half ago with no beta and it placed second in a contest. Plagiarism is bad, plagiarism to get good grades is worse :(

For some reason "silver" hair annoys me when describing Kakashi. I will only use "gray" unless it's reflecting moonlight!

Received an interesting comment on my KKT story. Reviewer said I was able to write Kakashi in character given an out of char situation (in a relationship). I finally realized why I have not yet found a believable Kakashi romance - it's because it's OOC for him.

Today I feel like discussing my take on Kakashi's character. To me, he is about control. He is in control of his feelings, of how people perceive him, and of whatever situation he's in. He is also a very private/mysterious person. To write stories keeping Kakashi in character means that he will not openly socialize with his fellow jounin (or Iruka!) in a bar or restaurant or party. He has as much angst as anyone else but he will not angst in public. If he's going to get drunk it will be at home alone. I've come across many well written Kakashi-centric stories (admittedly better written and much more reviewed than mine) but the authors take liberties (as is their right) with his character which I try hard to avoid. This ends my fanatical thoughts for today.

Someone ANBU-ed my "Sake" story. Yes, I know it's a gloriously stupid story, but it's a character parody, not a pro or anti feminist parody. The reviewer misquoted, misparaphrased, and misinterpreted virtually everything! And he/she does not write for Naruto, but writes for One Piece (blech!) It's a parody of how the guys in Naruto fics are treated as gays or perverts. There's more going on in that story but you'll have to read it for yourself.

I've recently decided that my goal in life is to strive to be the premiere Kakashi non-yaoi writer! I dislike Kakashi yaoi (though I have nothing against yaoi in general) and drunk angsty Kakashi, but I hate Kakashi-Sakura. (Yes, I know I'm pathetically obsessed.) I'm fanatical about keeping characters in character unless it's for parody. The most flattering reviews to me are the ones which say I keep Kakashi in char because he is hard to write for compared to most other chars. I like writing for the Konoha adults rather than the genin because I'm closer in age to them.

Background: Majored in chemistry, minored in computer science and East Asian studies, and 2 years of graduate studies in forensic science, so my stories sometimes have a scientific/analytical slant. Currently a bored government worker.

About my stories: Currently obsessed with the Naruto anime. I'm usually only motivated to write about Kakashi - working on series of stories with Kakashi and a seriously mental kunoichi. Stories are episodic but also linked so that the end will be a full book. First four stories will be undergoing rewrites. The Chronicles of Kakashi and the Kunoichi from Thunder Country

Volume I - The Kunoichi

Book 1: Kakashi and the Kunoichi from Thunder Country (rewrite completed)

The first part of the story follows Kakashi's new genin team through the same trials as Naruto's team with some different strategies. The girl and Kakashi have dark secrets that intertwine. Will she end up killing Kakashi or worse? Story covers 18 years, the first part mainly takes place about 3 years after the current Naruto timeline and ignores events after episode 65.

Book 2: Kakashi's Stolen Sharingan (currently undergoing revision)

Kakashi's sharingan is stolen by Rikako who becomes a missing-nin. He gets her eye in exchange, but he really misses his sharingan! (Explores some sharingan theories and the world of missing-nins.)

Volume II - The Raikage

Book 3: Kakashi and the Raikage of Thunder Country

The Raikage demands the return of Rikako to her native country. What are his plans for her and Konoha? As the last of her advanced bloodline, she thinks she will be honored, but what she gets is a surprise. (Explores some Byakugan theories.)

Book 4: Kakashi and the Counterfeit Kunoichi

Rikako returns to Konoha in a desperate state. What is after her? Have Kakashi's feelings really changed?

Volume III - The Siblings

Book 5: Kakashi and the Kidnapped Kunoichi

Kakashi forms the ultimate espionage-rescue team of Ino-Neji-Shikamaru-Naruto to rescue Rikako who has been kidnapped by insane mutant shinobis. But there are others involved and their information may not be accurate.
