Author has written 2 stories for Percy Jackson and the Olympians. UPDATES: Hello readers, I'm sure if you're here you're probably just searching for an explanation. I'm sorry I've been gone for so long, I spent the summer trying to save my 4-year relationship with my highschool sweetheart only to lose it a little while back and I confess I'm just... broken, I guess, right now. I can't formulate the thoughts to write because my mind cannot be cleared, so while I am never going to give up on my stories (Particularly Remnant, which I vow to finish) I need to take a break until I can clear my head and kinda find out who I am now I guess. I'm sorry, I'll see you all once I'm ready. - Chrome A gaggle of quotes I enjoy: "I've told you Bernard, never place your trust in us. We're only human. Inevitably, we will disappoint you. Goodbye, my friend." - Robert Ford "We have beef, we have bacon, we have beer. The foods of my people." - Kaidan Alenko "Had to be me. Someone else might have gotten it wrong." - Mordin Solus Focus: Remnant Side projects (On hiatus due to my workload): Legacy (Legacy is not discontinued but I'm going to be rewriting it upon completion of Remnant because looking back I'm not happy with how it was done originally. Apologies to the following for it, it will return eventually.) To do list (In Order): - Finish The Remnant - Rewrite and finish Legacy - Begin work on PJO-GoT Crossover (Subject to change, depending on mood might jump above Legacy) Wassup peoples, I'm a 19-year-old writer from the Canadian province of Ontario. This is my bio thing. If ya wanna learn a bit about me read it, if not continue to lurk. I'm a post-secondary student studying to get my english, history and medievalism degrees currently. Two of my all-time favourite book series are A Song of Ice and Fire (Game of Thrones for those of you who only watch the shows), and Percy Jackson and the Olympians. Those will be the main two things I write about here, though I believe that if I get invested enough and get a sudden urge to do it, I might also pop out some Skyrim or mass effect fics from time to time. Maybe even a Wheel of Time one, but seeing as those books are highly underrated and the community for it on here seems pretty barren, it's not very likely. I may say that I should have a chapter done by a certain time, however, if it's not (And this WILL happen at times), I am not dead, life simply got in the way. Trying to keep up with university is hard enough as it is. When you throw in social life, work, basic human need not to starve, and the pilgrimages I must make to get back home every few weekends to see my family ... Well, let's just say it can be hard sometimes to find the time to sit down and write a chapter. My updates while I am at school can be very sporadic and disorderly, I apologize for that but there's really not much I can do to change it. In the grind periods, (November, December, March, and April) random/delayed updates will be common, whereas on other months I will usually have the time to stick to some form of a schedule now. Bear with me, and I will always try to make the wait worth your while. I hope that you all enjoy my work :) Much love and Gods guide you, for the night is dark and full of terrors. - Chrome I don't like these copy and paste things but saw this on another author's profile and I felt that this needed to be shared here too. Anybody viewing this, please don't think of it just when reading my fics, but any fic of any author out there deserving. Jumping right to the point: REVIEW. Writers –– all of them, from famous authors to subtle FF writers –– ALL depend on the feedback from our readers. Vision Dominican brought up an interesting albeit tragically true idea: "Lack of reviews is the greatest killer of fanfic writers out there. We at the institute wish to let the public know of how they can pitch in to save our dying writers. 1) Drop a review every other chapter. It may not seem like much, but reviews are actually what many of us want to see. That, and hits. Hits do make us happy but we don't really know if people like our story or not. 2) Visit our author page. Those kind of hits really make us happy. It's where we showcase our entourage of friends, beta readers, and stories. Some of us even tidy up with set areas for upcoming story ideas and character bios. 3) Send a personal message. While normally I'd prefer a review, emails are just as good. Really, it warms my heart to communicate with another reader or writer." What you call being "too lazy to review" is what we call "a flame to the pages" as the writers. That one minute or two that you felt "too lazy" to review is another minute of creeping discouragement that all writers feel as they begin to think... "Why am I even here…?" "What's even the point of continuing?" "My skills must be terrible…no one cares for my story…" "I'll never be a good writer...I quit." These are only a few thoughts that go through every writer's head –– that go through MY head –– when we put out a chapter / story with all our heart and soul within, and we sit there…and sit…and wait…and not a single person says even a word. If you're not a writer, you have NO IDEA how much that hurts… If you ARE a writer, then I'm sure you know just how great it feels when someone is kind enough to leave a heartwarming and encouraging review, and you read it, smiling while thinking, "Wow…I did it…" So, why not give fellow writers the same luxury here? Too many times I've seen epic and utterly beautiful works of literary art fall to pieces before finally being abandoned due to the terrible discouragement that the lack of reviews can cause. Sometimes, it is so severe that the very writer himself decides to quit, denying the world his skills of writing that I am sure it would have deeply enjoyed. So… Just one minute, that's all it takes. Just a few gentle taps of the fingers on your keyboard, a few seconds or so of your time, and your words can SAVE a writer from a dark demise. Do me a favour: Go find a story, ANY story, anywhere here on Fanfic, net, and see if you can help it. If it has very little / no reviews at all, just check it out, and say whatever comes to mind. And enjoy the thought in mind that you could have just SAVED that story, with just a few taps of the keyboard… If you agree with what I have said then please copy and paste any part of this story you wish onto your profile. Modify it in any way you see fit; there is no need to use my exact words. You make it say what you want it to say. |
