Author has written 1 story for Legend of Zelda.
Hello! I hope this message finds you well. I have not been actively writing for quite a while, but I love reading works on this site and I hope to pick up writing again soon depending on what life has in store. Current Stories: N/A About Me: I'm a vicenarian engineering student who spends most of his free time reading stories and creating things. I've always been interested in fables and fictions rooted in the tribulations of a world eerily parallel to our own with a single, fundamental world force alien to our universe. For example, two franchises I have become closely familiar with are The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild (BOTW), and the cinematic world of How to Train Your Dragon (HTTYD). In BOTW, Hyrule is endangered by the imbalance of three primordial forces - called the triforces - and the narrative describes Link's quest to recover the memories of a life lived a century ago before his repose in a world fundamentally different than which the memories were created. My fascination stems from the implications of his place in the world both before and after the cataclysmic event of Ganon's return - where, exactly does he fit? So many questions are left unanswered and thus the theater of the mind can offer different explanations. How might a prototypical protagonist from our world - such as a sworn knight - translate to a world of divine order and primeval force? In HTTYD, the Barbaric Archipelago has experienced dragon raids for nearly 300 years. Only once Hiccup defies his own nurture and accepts one with whom he has been trained to be fundamentally at odds with, the status quo changes. The interesting angle to consider in this universe is the role of the dragons - how intelligent are they? The suggestions at the dragons' intelligence is self-evident in the three films; but to what extent are they sentient? Regarding dragons as human-equivalent creatures offers creative liberty to any willing to grapple the broad question with careful reasoning - yielding entirely new and abstract cultures not beholden to human mythos. Recommendations: I have recently encountered a story in the HTTYD franchise that I hold with high praise: The "Brothers of Night" universe - Toothlessgolfer. A voluminous, beautifully-written saga set after after the first movie with a few plot alterations. Other: I am currently brainstorming story ideas and, if I can find the time to do so, I would love to write a story in the HTTYD franchise and revisit The Knight's Oath for a re-write. I have decided to commit to responding to Direct Messages within a week. Hopefully I will become more active here in the coming weeks. Of course, feel free to just say hello! |
