Well.

Here I've written (and am still writing) about the strange dynamics of a couple of people who were on two ends of the same childhood trauma. I have to read the book again. After reading it the first time I was incredibly interested in what these people were supposed to do about each other in later life. The characters Jack and Ralph have a great amount of power over each other because they've so strongly impacted one anothers' lives. They have a lot of reasons to be afraid of each other, and it wouldn't take much to rekindle that emotion. It's unfamiliar for them to interact in a civilized context, so their relationship is doomed to fail. Or is it? We'll see.
