Ughh, too much light... No curtains? Really? She was definitely not in the Bellagio anymore. Her head was pounding. She raised her arm to cover her eyes and her hand dragged across flesh. Someone else's naked flesh. She tried to mentally sort out what had happened the night before. She blamed Stark. And Thor. But mostly Stark.

Steve trudged through the snow, doing his best to keep calm. Darcy continued her stream of complaints. He had been so glad to find her that he had swept her up and kissed her. She pushed him away, she was dating Bucky after all. As they fled the burning factory, the walkway had collapsed, and they had become separated from the rest of the Avengers.

He held her and buried his face in her hair. It hadn't been their first disagreement, but it was the first time the remnant of the soldier had come into play. "M'gonna have Stark make you a stronger taser." He lifted her head and stared into her eyes. "This ever happens again, you use it." She began to protest. "No. You use it. If nothing else maybe it'll knock some sense into me."

He hated waking up in hospitals, especially when she was looking at him like that.

They're just friends. She's pretty sure that's all he wants from her. Darcy can deal with that really, no matter what her heart or her body says to the contrary. But he keeps wandering into her apartment fresh after a shower... Nope just friends. Bucky Barnes is just her friend. Really.

She would dream of utter darkness, of someone writhing in agony. She longed to comfort the poor soul, she always woke up, frightened, and sobbing; but every night she seemed to get closer. The hurting one was there, beyond her reach, her fingertips had brushed cloth and from the visceral reaction, she knew two things, one it was definitely a he, and he was in terrible pain.
