![]() Author has written 2 stories for Harry Potter. Writing is/was my first ambition. But like so many early conceived ambitions it lost out to other forms of occupation that pay on a regular basis. :) But now, an early retirement is in the cards. And finally, my chance to write. More on this later, but for now my writing skills are a little off but coming around, and I hope to have something published in the near future. So far any attempts come across as a little dark - Gothic Romance and that kind of thing. Since I have to wait till the family is tended and asleep, it's often quite late when I get started. Oh well, that's all for now - it's getting late... ...(whoops - an early amendment) Since I first wrote this, other duties have been pushed my way, and well - like I'm not exactly retired. Right now it feels pretty damned far from it, I'll tell ya that. Nevertheless - I will continue to write. I just won't be as prolific as otherwise. (6/17/18) Sorry I've been away for so long; unfortunately my early retirement was all too short lived - but I haven't been entirely away from writing. I've begun another story and have completed 12 chapters but I'm not ready to release yet. Right now I'm comfortable completing a chapter when I get the time and inspiration. Toward the end of 'Tower' I heavily felt the grind of having to release a chapter every two weeks, as I had promised from the beginning. It affected my writing and some astute readers picked up on that and recommended I take a break. :) I still find that funny. I am making progress again, and hope to have something out there before too long! Created a tumblr page for updates and notices: ...Right now I'm mostly using tumblr for chapter notices, but have a few commentaries out there soon. 14.05.16 More later - but working on some new material for a story or two. Hope to get more info out on that very soon. What I can say is that it's a form of a marriage law. I know that theme is worn out, but I've added a few twists of my own. Hopefully it will be a compelling story. Also had a few shots across by bow lately in the form of story ideas from readers. Who knows - maybe some of those will pan out. 9.10.16 (DMY) Have about five completed chapters of the Marriage Law mentioned above. Not sure when I'll pull the trigger on this. I do have a lot of work now that takes me away from FF. Just worked out the outline for a Dramione Christmas special in the form of a oneshot. May have to stop work on 'Tower' to get it in - not sure. But more on this later. 24.12.15 It's Out! The Dramione Holiday one-shot, A Merry Christmas Twist, is published. Rated T for now, unless someone objects. :) Part I of The Tower Window is now published. It is a very dark and Gothic Dramione focusing around Malfoy Manor. In some ways it was exactly what I was looking for - in others, well, maybe not ideally suited for FF. But it is me, and I've enjoyed getting started on it. More on this later... Part II is now in the works. Unlike part I, which was dark, brutal, and bloody, it should a little more civil with more interaction between the characters. I'm really eager to see how the readers receive that, in comparison to part I. It should be a bit of a change and fun to write. Hope the readers enjoy it. Look for more characters to enter the scene. Don't count out Blaise and Theo - not by a long shot. Part II is nearing an end. Would like to make it 10 chapters like part I, but don't think it'll make it. The story is already getting into part III stuff. Finally, we're into Part III. Hopefully this section will be about the same length as part II and Part I. It should make for a lot of good Dramione. It should be a treat for all those who have patiently sat by this story. :) Part III is winding down and the story along with it. We'll be quickly racing toward the dénouement in the next few chapters. A brief epilogue will follow. D.Q. My Garden. There is a place, behind my house, where the lawn gently slopes away a hundred feet to join a dark wood. Sometimes, late at night, when the floodlights have been left on by mistake, I sit by my reading room window and watch. There is the occasional creature I spot, sticking their nose out of the wood into the light. The Opossum, the Raccoon, I see. Sometimes the Fox and the Deer run across the garden. For safety, they stay where the edge of light meets the edge of the wood. None seem to turn away from the light to re-enter the dark wood. None except my imagination. DQ |
