There's a lot of a hubbub about Kara's secret identity, but in the deepest, darkest parts of herself, Alex has always thought that—even though she's actually from this planet, and doesn't need special glasses to keep from accidentally incinerating things with her eyeballs—her own secret identities may be the bigger burden. Aka, the one where no one knows anything. AU-ish, Oneshot.

AU. Jane's wildly displeased by her new assignment: undercover bodyguard for the contestants on The Bachelor. But one of the women is different from the rest, and getting to know her might just make this whole dumb assignment worth the while.

Barging into the ladies' restroom was not how Jane had hoped to begin her confrontation with Maura, but neither was letting her friend puke her guts out alone in a dingy bar bathroom. And God help Dr. Maura Isles if she had snuck out a bathroom window just to avoid a simple conversation.
