I am a bi-lingual Russian/English speaker (mostly). I love reading, in both languages. When I read something really great in Russian, I often have this tingling in my fingers, the overwhelming desire to translate it so that others who don't speak the language have a chance to read it too.

Translation is my only creative ability and passion. My ability to follow that passion is often hindered by the many responsibilities I have as a working woman, spouse and mother - and that means that I may go for months without translating much.

"The Web" took three years to get close to finished - but then it is incredibly long, proportionally to how wonderful it is.
