 Author has written 5 stories for Once Upon a Time. "Being a writer is like having homework every night for the rest of your life." (Lawrence Kasdan, qtd. on tumblr via 1000wordseveryday) And it's both wonderful and terrible. Sometimes more of one than the other. That's why I simultaneously hate and love that I returned to writing nearly five years ago. It's such a magnificent obsession, filled with all the shades of dark and light, both freeing and chaining, breath-giving and breath-taking. It's one beast I don't believe I'll ever understand and shall certainly never tame, but I suppose that's half the pain and half the exhilaration of writing. So in the meantime, as I wrangle to grasp how it fits in my life, I guess I'll just keep doing it.
