When a woman chosen by Hydaelyn wakes Midgardsormr from his slumber, he can't augur the important lesson about mortals which the young Au Ra will teach him. But while he - shaped like a baby-dragon - accompanies the maiden, he discovers soon a bond to her that can't be denied despite his wish to do so. A link, which forces him to prioritize her life instead of his own immortality.

Despite a grave betrayal in antiquity, Reshiram gave life another chance, when he allied a young woman. She (an Adept from another world) guards the dimensions with her companions from evil forces, which he supports. But while he does so, he struggles with many things – including her old friends plus her bond to a humanely Lugia. And, above all, his growing feelings for her.

Some trainer with special abilities (called Tamer) work together with their Pokemon to help people in trouble. Melody Northdale, a young Tamer, wants to capture a Lugia since a while.
