Author has written 15 stories for Pride and Prejudice, Holy Musical B@man!, Criminal Minds, Harry Potter, Teen Wolf, Sherlock, and Doctor Who. Hello! I am Ashley! There's... really not much to be said about me, except that I'm really bad at bios. I could go into a long rant about how trying to sell yourself to someone in such a way is useless because the greatness of human consciousness is so complex that you could never truly be described in words, but I won't do that. Instead I will tell you that I like brightly colored hair, cats, the color blue, and disregarding grammar rules if they get in the way of properly portraying the emotion of a scene. I say this because I know that there are some people who don't like this, which I will never understand. I'm a big believer that you should never downgrade your emotion or passion for something just because it's impossible to truly express that emotion while staying in the boundaries of proper grammar. I believe that without such emotion and passion, words would be nothing anyway. I'm also a big fan of slam poetry. Can you tell? My archiveofourown account can be found here, and my tumblr can be found here. NOTE THAT YOU SHOULD DEFINITELY READ IF YOU'VE LEFT A NICE REVIEW ON ONE OF MY STORIES: I am very, very bad at replying to reviews. Usually for two reasons: a) I tell myself I'm going to do it later and then just forget, or b) I'm terrified of that awkward small talk-y thing that happens when you're textually communicating with someone and the conversation SHOULD be over, but neither parties ever end it (it's also the reason I avoid texting). Needless to say, I DO appreciate your positive feedback very much and I would love to kiss all of your faces, I'm just bad at expressing it. ANOTHER NOTE, THIS TIME ON TITLES: Oh, and, I've gotten a comment or two about not capitalizing my titles, and I've an explanation: I write a lot of poetry. Slam poetry specifically, which doesn't necessarily have a proper formatting, and I never capitalize words in my poetry unless they're important, so I never really capitalize the titles of my poems. It's just sort of a habit that seems to have worked its way into my fanfiction writing. The thing is, I feel that capitalization should only pertain to things of importance (like, proper sentence structure is usually important so unless I'm writing poetry, I properly capitalize sentences and words, etc), and to me, the title of a work just isn't... as important as the work itself. Certainly not important enough to me to be capitalized. I don't know, it's just a little thing that I do, same as my completely disregard for grammar at times, and it definitely spawns from my poetry. But, yeah. In case that was bothering you, there's a legitimate reason. Maybe not as legitimate to you as it is to me, but a reason nonetheless. (Side note: I was re-reading that last bit and thought it said 'another note, this time on titties'. Oops.) FUN FACT: if the status says complete, the story is complete. I'm sorry to say that if it is complete then I don't plan on revisiting it and adding more. It probably won't be the last work for that fandom, and I may write a sequel-ish thing for that story later on, but if it says it's complete, it's complete. I'm so glad that you like my story and wish there were more, but there's not, and there's nothing I can do. I realize that may make me sound a bit douchey, but I just don't want you to get your hopes up for more when there will not, in fact, be more. Unfortunately, I've no control over my muse. :) (SORRY ABOUT ALL THE CAPS LOCK, I'M ADDICTED TO IT.) |
