![]() Author has written 1 story for Glee. As you can probably tell, I'm a freak for good grammar... and spelling. I've read tons of stories that would have been just great, but for the distracting errors. Oh, my, I wish I could wave a magic wand and clean up these stories before I read them because many of them are truly interesting. Alas, there's no such device; we simply need to pay more attention to what we publish and have respect for our readers. I firmly believe that writing is a community effort - it's not just about getting it all out there, regardless. We are readers as well as writers and, as such, we don't want to constantly be jerked out of the storyline by ridiculous errors. Well, that's my rant for now. Personally, I'm a woman of a certain age, a voracious reader and, just recently, a writer of fan fiction. I've been toying with the idea of writing original fiction but right now I'm addicted to fanfiction in the NCIS, Sherlock, Glee, Harry Potter and White Collar universes. I also can't get enough science fiction in my life and one day I'm going to rant on the change from the name 'SciFi Channel' to the inane 'Syfy'. What the heck is that? I am a Christian who doesn't really fit into any particular category but I attend an Anglican church at the moment. I think most of us are forgetting our mandate from our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ but that's also a rant for another day. I love good food, especially anything chocolate-based, I have no time for disrespectful people no matter their age and I love to travel. I grew up colour blind with regard to race and I have no truck with party politics of any kind. I absolutely love philanthropy and have spent many years as a volunteer and a coordinator of volunteers. Voluntarism keeps us human and touches the divine. As Mother Teresa said most eloquently: "Give the world the best you have and it may never be enough. Give your best anyway." Shalom! |
