I usually write stories with characters of my own, but I decided to try Harry Potter-based fanfiction for a change. In my opinion, the characters worth spending time on in the books are Severus Snape and Draco Malfoy, who are the only ones complex enough for my taste and without both of whom the HP books would be completely deprived of proper humor. The Marauders are pretty interesting to write about too; as many say, they deserve their own book.

My writings vary from morbid to comic (I hope) and, every now and then, romance can be seen seeping through (again, I hope). As for ships, I firmly stand my ground on my favorite characters being held within character. I'm completely against the Drarry ship - because, apart from hating Draco's guts and not being gay, Harry is such a naturally insensitive and selfish person in relationships (see book 5, 6 etc.) that he couldn't possibly handle Draco's vulnerability and emotional needs even if he did love him more than anything in the world. I'm not too fond of the traditional ship Draco x Astoria Greengrass, either, since nobody knows anything about her and she's most likely to be a random pureblood witch Draco's parents chose for him in the "personal freedom" spirit of pureblood families. Draco/Ginny - never could happen. I'm willing to go for the Dramione ship, although the flaw in this ship is Hermione would most likely try to change Draco into a more moral and rule-abiding person than he naturally is (and none of us would really want that, now, would we?). All in all, I'd like him to be described the way he is in the book, not too much softer than he is expected to be. As for Snape, the all-time flawless and favorite character ever, I picture him with Lily very well, although I really don't think she deserves him.

As for other ships, Ron and Hermione work for me perfectly. Harry/Ginny is a really, truly boring relationship, if you ask me. The Bloody Baron and the Grey Lady - perfect. Luna and Neville - supreme. And, yes, Voldemort/Bellatrix. But that's not my cup of tea to write about.
