(Yes, I've changed my pen name. Twice.)

Artemus Gordon / Ross Martin fan girl here.

I started writing Wild Wild West fanfiction in the summer of 2011. I've posted here all the stories I had already posted elsewhere (after various degrees of rewriting) as well as new stories I've been completing. The plan is to post at least one chapter a week, usually three per week, M/W/F.

Update to the plan above:

After maintaining my thrice weekly updating schedule for all this time now, I'm sorry to say that I am out of buffer! I'm about 27,000 words into the next story, but it's not done and not likely to be done before Monday Oct 27th — and since my policy is not to post any chapters until I have the entire story written, for the time being, I'm on a posting hiatus. I'll be back with the next story, The Night of the Royal Wedding, as soon as possible.

And the hiatus is now over! To give myself more time to finish stories, however, I'm cutting back to posting twice a week, Mondays & Fridays.

Should have updated to note that I am again on hiatus. Sorry about that, chef!

What, you may ask, are the Hoka Stories? Hokas are sentient alien teddy bears with the most active imaginations in the known universe. Created by Poul Anderson & Gordon R Dickson, the Hokas inhabit the pages of Earthman's Burden, Hoka!, Hoka! Hoka! Hoka!, Hokas Pokas!, and The Sound and The Furry: the Complete Hoka Stories.

My favorite Hoka story, hands down, is "The Adventure of the Misplaced Hound," in which we meet the Hoka Sherlock Holmes, as well as a fellow who is the very model of a modern major operative.

The more I read the Hoka stories, in fact, the more I come to the conclusion that Anderson & Dickson managed to get away with professionally publishing fanfictions!

The designation of AU on any of my WWW stories simply means that

Envoi to Taken at the Flood reviews
A brief fixfic, because the ending of Taken at the Flood annoyed me. Oh, not Poirot's resolution of the case! No, it was Lynn Marchmont's choice of husband, especially her reasons for her choice. I suppose back in the day that would have been considered romantic, but nowadays… Well, I simply think she was being stupid. One-shot, complete.

A Letter to a Friend reviews
The favorite villain of most fans of The Wild Wild West, I dare say, is the incomparable Dr Miguelito Loveless. The first few episodes featuring the little wizard are some of the best stories the series ever had, yet as time went on, the quality of the Loveless stories deteriorated badly. I offer here a letter Loveless might well have penned while musing upon this fact.

Hoka Who? reviews
The Hokas, whom I have gleefully borrowed from Poul Anderson & Gordon R Dickson, are notorious for their prodigious imaginations. So what happens when they get exposed to Doctor Who? A one-shot - unless I think up some more later.

The Night of the Unexpected Visit reviews
It started with an unexpected visit from someone out of Artie's past, followed quickly by a kidnapping. The agents soon suspect the crime was perpetrated by someone out of their more recent past - someone very twisted, brilliant, deadly, and diminutive. Heavily revised, especially in the second half of the story, from a previous version posted elsewhere online.

The Night of the Two-Legged Weasel reviews
If you listen closely to the Prince's speech at the end of the episode The Night of the Two-Legged Buffalo, it sounds like the writer was setting things up for a sequel - except the show never provided a sequel, so I decided to. Presenting the further adventures of Jim and Artie vs. Crown Prince Creepy of the Coral Island…

The Night of the Exchange reviews
Throughout the 104 episodes of The Wild Wild West, Jim apparently had just one horse: big, black, beautiful, and bright. Artie on the other hand went through quite a succession of horses. As a friend and I were chatting about this lately, she said something that spawned a plot bunny. This story is the result.

Have you ever seen a show where the Hero needs something to use against the Bad Guy and bam! suddenly he has it?
