Author has written 20 stories for Katherine Kurtz.

I write stories because the voices won't stop yammering at me. ;-) Nearly all of my fanfic is written in the Eleven Kingdoms universe created by Katherine Kurtz in her Deryni novels, and my stories encompass the full range from short stories to novel length. They are posted on Katherine's fan forum at http://; however, since forum boards don't have the ideal format for following multi-chapter stories, I'm trying my hand at posting some of them here, where hopefully it will be easier for readers who just want to read a chapter or two at a time to pick back up where they left off. Since my stories all fall into an overall story arc, I will list the stories I currently have posted on Fanfiction.net in a suggested reading order and update the list as new stories are added. While most of my stories, if not all, can also be read as stand-alones, I have enough non-canonical characters mixed in with the canonical ones that it might be helpful for readers to read the stories in which these characters were first introduced before moving on to stories which were added to the story arc later.

My Eleven Kingdoms stories currently posted here are as follows, in suggested reading order:

In Pulverem Reverteris (complete)

Lady-In-Waiting (complete)

Demoiselle in Distress (complete)

Outfoxed (complete)

Maidens of Mayhem (complete)

The Demoiselle and Derry (complete)

Anamchara (complete)

Man-Trap (complete)

The Killing Season (complete)

A Time To Heal (complete)

The Bishop and the Birthday Girl (complete)

The Rustic Prince (complete)

Labors of Love (complete)

The Arrangement (complete)

Possessed (complete)

The Least of These (complete)

Bewitched, Bothered, and Bewildered (complete)

Visionaries (complete)

The Apparition (complete)

Balance of Power (complete)

In addition to my fanfic, I've written a few original stories, including a completed first draft of an original novel and the beginning of a second one, but nothing ready to submit for publication yet.

I welcome feedback, both positive and critical, so long as it's constructive and polite. :-)

War of Three Kings by drakensis reviews
For a century the exiled Festils have sought to reclaim their former kingdom of Gwynedd. For just as long the Haldane kings have stood against the Festils and tried to reconcile their human subjects to the sorcerous Deryni. The lines have been drawn and armies are on the march. Three kings are converging upon an obscure village about to go down in history as the Killingford.

The Least of These reviews
This story is mostly set during the Deryni persecutions under the Custodes Fidei in the year 918. Yet even in those dark times, there were people who risked their lives in order to save as many Deryni as they could. Some were not even Deryni themselves, but were motivated by their love for all mankind, despite their differences. This is a tale of some of those unsung heroes.

Possessed reviews
Deryni power comes with great responsibility. What happens if a sociopath inherits Deryni talents instead, and receives just enough training to become a danger to society? The Arilan family is forced to deal with this menace to the Kingdom and Human/Deryni relations. I tried to keep the violence in this story muted to strong T rather than crossing into M-hopefully I succeeded.

Labors of Love reviews
Love manifests itself in varying forms. When a young mother finds her life unexpectedly threatened by childbirth complications, those who love her most are forced to discover some uniquely Deryni solutions to the emergency at hand. Probably closer to K , but since the story depicts a childbirth scene gone awry, I'll rate it T for the squeamish. 7 years after Maidens of Mayhem.

Man-Trap
This short story was inspired by the references in KKB about the social-climbing Lady Oksana having tried to snag a Haldane husband before finally settling on Jolyon Ramsey. I thought it would be fun to have a look at one of those failed attempts from Brion and Nigel Haldane's point of view. Rated T for mild "lads will be lads" humor at poor Oksana's expense.

Anamchara
Dhugal MacArdry works through his feelings for the Lady of Llyr who has stolen his heart. How did she come to be in his King's service? Maidens of Mayhem reviews
Three young maidens arrive at King Kelson's court at Rhemuth to begin their duties as ladies-in-waiting to a noblewoman in residence there, and secretly to begin their Deryni training as well. The story takes place in the autumn through spring immediately following the events in The Quest For Saint Camber.

Outfoxed
The third prequel story to "Maidens of Mayhem" introduces Ailidh nicArdry, a distant kinswoman of young Duke Dhugal MacArdry McLain. This story, along with "Lady-in-Waiting" and "Outfoxed," sets up the stage for events to follow in that novel-length story.
Katherine Kurtz - Rated: T - English - Fantasy/Friendship - Chapters: 1 - Words: 3,493 - Favs: 1 - Published: 7/11/2012 - Complete
Demoiselle in Distress reviews
Second prequel story to "Maidens of Mayhem," this story introduces Celsie de Chervignon, one of Duke Alaric Morgan's vassals who seeks his duchess's aid after a traumatic event leads to her flight from her home. Rated T for allusions to violence and abuse occurring just prior to events of story.

LadyInWaiting
One of three prequel stories leading up to my upcoming novel length "Maidens of Mayhem," this further introduces the character of Sophie de Varnay, whose adventures as a new lady-in-waiting in King Kelson's court will be featured in MoM. Most of my Deryni stories fall into an extended story arc within the King Kelson timeline of the series. Not sure if K or T, so picked T.
