(01.10.2013) I am so so so sorry that I wasn't able to keep my promise of an update before the end of last month. There's really no excuse and it's my fault for not writing. Please don't abandon my story, Symphony of the Shadows. Just to clarify, but I haven't given up on it - I've just been unable to update. I will soon though.

BASICS

Name: Andrea Salud Katic (nickname: Andie)

Age: 17

Gender: female

Family: Robin Katic - mum, very nice, caring, a pushover, forgiving, sweet // curly, strawberry blonde hair, green eyes, fair skin, freckles, soft & feminine features // not a magician, but lives with her husband, Aaron in the 1st Nome; Aaron James Katic: strict, though, militaristic, yet understanding & protective // cropped, salt & pepper hair, blue eyes, olive skin, tall // talented combat magician; Ryan Katic: older brother // cocky, annoying, childish, a flirt, witty & arrogant, but you can’t help but love him, also overprotective over Andie // tousled, dirty blonde hair, blue eyes, slightly tanned skin, athletic build // once he finished his training at the 1st Nome, he moved back to Manhattan not far from his parents; the Katic family is close knit, though they get into fights as all families do, and remain in contact with Andie, who trains in all the way in the 32nd Nome.

Personality: Andie takes up after her dad. She’s serious, rational and mature. Don’t judge her based on her looks, because she is one smart cookie, who is wise beyond her years. She’s always the responsible one in the group. Andie may not be the eldest or have been there the longest, but people in the Nome respect her, because they all know what she is capable of & that she gets things done. She’s not patient and she’s to the point - no beating around the bush or trivial information here. She comes off cold most times, but if you took the time to break down her walls, you’d see she’s actually really caring and loyal.

HISTORY

Origin: Andie’s family moved around a bit. First they lived in her mother’s home country of Australia. A few years later, when Ryan was 4 and Andie was 2, they moved to Rhode Island. They stayed there for 3 years before living in Manhattan. 3 years later Ryan was sent to “boarding school” (aka training at the 1st Nome) and Andie followed soon after. Andie’s childhood was more or less normal and magic was kept secret until the point where training began.

Training: Andie started when she was 10. Much to her displeasure, seeing as she was so far away from anyone she knew and her older brother got to go to the 1st Nome (but she has learned to call the 32nd Nome home. She is very serious about her training and does it 6 days a week. She’d start with a 30 minute jog for warm up, then another 30 minutes for meditation before practicing not only magic, but a bit of fighting as well.

APPEARANCE

Eyes: deep, dark, electric blue

Hair: thick, wavy, long, layered, chocolate brown hair often kept in a high ponytail

Skin: slightly tanned

Body Type: lean with an hour glass figure, average height, but on the taller side

Features: she’s actually really pretty even with the constant straight face and time to time scowls; she has feminine features like her mother. She has Cupid’s bow lips; she has dimples (though few have seen her smile)

Regular clothing: tank tops or graphic tees with the sleeves cut off and jean shorts with combat boots or Converse sneakers; she’s never seen without her mother’s golden scarab necklace

Formal Clothing: a crimson red dress with a sweet heart neckline and fitted bodice that flows out into an asymmetric skirt paired with black pumps

Swimwear: navy blue, corset bandeau bikini with flip flops

CAPABILITY

Specialty: fire elementalist

Path of the Gods?: yes, Ra

Strengths: good swimmer, sharp mind, agile, determined (when she wants something, she is dead set on getting it), grace under pressure,

Weaknesses: not trusting, declines help from others, impatient, comes off cold, thinks she knows Everything

Special abilities: excels at what she does, photographic memory, master of deception (or “acting” as she calls it)

ADDITIONAL

Romance?: definitely, any OC, someone that pushes her buttons and gets under her skin

Friends: not many, I’ll consider any OC that wants to be her friend

Pets: a golden retriever named Scottie; he follows Andie almost everywhere; goes running with her and sits on her surfboard when she hits the waves

Trivia: Her favourite colour is blue. She doesn’t like candy. She has a soft spot for little kids. She goes mountain climbing and surfing. Her dream is to go to Hawaii. She’s allergic to nuts. She (secretly) likes cheesy pick-up lines. She hates being compared to Zia Rashid, since they are so similar, or anyone really, for that matter (I swear, when I thought of this OC and my story idea, I was in the middle of reading Red Pyramid. So stop telling me I copied one of Uncle Rick’s characters because it was a mere coincidence that Andie turned out so much like Zia with being a fire elementalist, wearing a scarab necklace and anything else they have in common).
