So I’m Tara. I’m a huuuuge geek (well duh, look at my user name). I grew up reading comics and watching a variety of geek television (being a 90′s kid Star Trek TNG and Quantum Leap dominated a portion of my growing up. Then later Babylon 5, Buffy, Firefly etc. Today I can be found reading many a Comic and following the Winchesters via Supernatural or spending some quality time with Olivia , Walter and the Fringe gang ! ). In addition The Gilmore Girls has a very special place in my heart.

Eventually as an adult (I’m older now than I’d like to be ) I was lucky enough to work and come into my own at the amazing Nostalgia & Comics in Birmingham (UK). It was friends, family ,a real calling and lucky for me it was work too ! I currently live with my partner (who is a mature student) in Liverpool, UK.

I also enjoy the variety of ways teh interwebz allows people to create geek community ! Which brings me on to what I hope will be the main point of being here. I adore Fan Fiction, no really I LOVE it. All types, all fandoms it’s aaaaall good ! Fan fic has even allowed me to enjoy books and TV series that I don’t actually partake of in their original form. I think I know more about Harry Potter for instance ( I’m a big ol’ Hufflepuff) through Fan Fic than either the books or the movies , which can be a mite confusing at times I’ll grant you

In addition as a Trans person the sub genre of Transfic (for those that aren’t familiar this is the insertion of a trans idea or character or the rendering of an existing character originally portrayed as Cis, as Trans into a fic). Given the almost total absence of Trans characters from fiction, genre or otherwise this is incredibly empowering and very VERY cool !

I think that there was a quote from Harvey Fierstein about cis gay people and his work on “Torch Song Trilogy” in the 1980′s that can be applied to how I see Transfic (and the need for further expanding the portrayal of Trans people in all fiction). It talks about “being the protagonists of our own stories”. That in my opinion is important.

So I’ve enjoyed a bit of fan fic in my time. However I’ve never been able to write any. I don’t 100% know why this is. Mainly it’s because of an uncanny ability (or rather lack of ability) with plot). I persevere though and recently I did it ! EUREKA ! One of my attempted fics actually got to the point were it was kind of finished. Or at least had a full chapter or two for you good folk to read.

So that's where I'm at so to speak. I have no idea what so ever if my stuff is any good or not but I'm enjoying doing it. I hope you'll enjoy reading it ! :)

The Multipart Supernatural transfic series dubbed the "College Girl" 'verse is set in the following order.

(1) Highway To...Haunting.

(2) Son Of A Preacher Plan.

On a side note since it's been a while since I've updated the above mentioned "College Girl" 'verse stories. I am still writting them, I just got a bit stuck and a bit blocked but part 2 of "Son Of A Preacher Plan. I do intend to re-visit this 'verse however.

While I was blocked on THAT story I kinda got inspired with another Supernatural transfic. The consequence is that I now have two seperate yet continuing Supernatural transfic 'verses one for Sam, one for Dean, both trans female. The first one of the Deanna 'verse is "One Night At Easy Daze." Which I'm VERY proud of to be honest.
