I'm going to keep what I originally wrote *gasp* six years ago on my profile below but here's an update:

So much loss and self-discovery has happened in my life that I feel like a freaking phoenix. I've been burned to ashes and now I'm rising more myself, more badass, more free. My writing MIGHT reflect that. I don't know. I hold a full 40 hour a week job, so my writing is usually done in an insomniac stupor in the late late hours when the world shuts off and I can be myself.

Okay, let's see what info down there still holds true:

Still from Iowa. Different city. I moved back to a crappy hometown to help take care of my granny-poops. She's adorable but this town is anemic. You know - small town life.

Still love interacting with writers. I spent 6 years hanging in garages and bars obsessed with having my friends that I forgot to branch out and meet new people. Moving back home has forced me to be social and god I missed it.

Still love all those shows. Let me throw in my current Hulu and Netflix binges:

Shadowhunters (god, Alec is a babe - I'm WAY to old to be saying that but ..good bone structure is good bone structure.)

Lucifer, Blindspot, S.W.A.T. (

Music: currently going through a metal phase. Dimmu Borgir, Avatar, Behemoth, Gojira, Meshuggah - I recommend checking them all out. Also a Ghost fan (BIG TIME) but I don't know if I'd call it metal.

Ok - those are my recommendations. Those are the influences floating in my head all the time so - look into them if you want. :)

I'm 26 years old (almost 27 I can't believe it.) I love to write. I have no formal training but I like to think I can turn out some good stories. Occasionally. :)

I live in the wonderful state (current tundra) of Iowa. You'd think it's all bonfires and 4-wheelers but I live very close to a very vibrant little city that is partially my muse. If there is a utopia I live close. :)

I love interacting with other writers, readers, intellectuals, and observers; so please feel free to message me if you would like to. My current interests include writing, reading, listening to music (oh, dubstep - what a twisted and complicated affair we have.) As far as 'pop culture' I am a fan of The Big Bang Theory, The Walking Dead (unless I'm home alone,) :) Firefly, Criminal Minds, Resident Evil. Basically nerds and zombies. :)
