![]() Author has written 22 stories for X-Files, Law and Order: SVU, Doctor Who, and Supernatural. I got my start writing X-Files fanfic more than ten years ago, when the show was still on the air. It was, and still is, my favorite show ever. X-files is still my fave, because 1) I love the characters (who doesn't?), and 2) the subject matter is so open that the possibilities are literally endless. I came back to writing X-Files fanfic because I was writing a novel, and needed to watch the show for research and inspiration. I am currently in the process of revising an X-Files inspired series of short stories (all original characters, though) for publication--stay tuned! I'll let you all know when I have a release date. I also write Law and Order: Special Victims Unit, my favorite show currently still on the air. I love the interplay amongst all the characters on the show, and even though Elliot left (sigh, *wipes tear away*), I still found a way to write him back into my stories. So I'm a huge EO fan, as anyone who reads my stories knows, I'm sure. The great thing about fanfic is that it allows you to write characters who are already in existence--you don't have to develop the characters and make the reader fall in love with them. Instead, the reader is already in love and came here to read what they are already familiar with. Which makes the real challenge to be able to stay in character and make the story believable. The big question is always, "What would Scully/Mulder do?" I know a lot of people prefer to read only romance, but I like to write an actual plot (wow, what a concept! Lol), and include romance elements within the story. Often I take elements of the orginal show and include them in the story, but I sometimes write my own original plots as well. And I have a strong identification with Scully and with Olivia Benson (my favorite type of female character is in both of them--strong, intelligent, independent, and yet vulnerable), so my favorite pieces are Scully or Olivia-centered, and my very favorite stories are ones in which the female lead gets into trouble and gets rescued by her partner. You will see that quite a bit in my work. I will always write fanfic--I am driven to do so. I may slow down at times due to other obligations, and perhaps I will become a famous author someday (one can always dream), but I will never leave my true love behind. |
