Hi, this is GoldenAmaryllis. I'm not entirely sure what goes on a profile...

Anyways, since you're here, looking at MY PROFILE, I may as well say something about myself. I'm a student, and I've always loved reading and recently within the past year or two started writing; I've just started dabbling in posting though. I haven't done a whole lot of fanfic, but I have a few original works on FictionPress under the same name (they're not that good; I wrote them a long time ago, mostly).

And by the way, I absolutely ADORE Lord of the Rings (yes, the books AND the movies). Tolkein is a genius, evidently, and I like to think of his writing as possibly THE original fantasy epic. I haven't really worked on any fanfic for his works though, although I love how complex Middle Earth is with all its history. And I'm so excited for the first part of the Hobbit movie!

Harry Potter is also good; I've read a lot of fanfic from there. And, as you can tell from my only posted work, Hunger Games is also quite interesting. I know the idea has been around for a while, but I think that it does deal with a lot of interesting moral issues and has some creative ideas with Peeta. But I think I like Haymitch best. Obviously...

And for movies, I think Inception wins. Christopher Nolan is brilliant, obviously, but the amazing plot and brilliant characters totally won me over on that one. So, Inception is my favorite movie. Maybe I'll write some fanfic for that someday...

I also love British things. Yep, I'm American, but I love British accents!! And their movies. I love their movies (especially LOTR).

I've also figured out how to put up an avatar, and so that is an amaryllis. Yep. Georgia O'Keefe's red amaryllis turned golden. I'm also a (teensy) bit of a painter. I use oil mostly, having not much time to paint or try other medium, but I've also done Chinese brush painting, which is similar to watercolor, but oil is a pretty cool thing to work with. And I like O'Keefe's work too. It's really neat and elegant, and she had a wonderful sense of humor.
