Poll: How would you like to see "Night and Day" end? Please take a moment to read the details for this poll on my Profile before you vote . Vote Now!

Author has written 1 story for Hunger Games. UPDATE: I have had two different endings in mind for this story since I started drafting it, and I've honestly had a hard time choosing. So I'm starting a poll! Part of me feels like I'm cheating a little, maybe stooping so low as to be pandering to my audience, because any good writer ought to make that decision on their own, but I thought What the hell... I hope I don't lose too much respect by doing this. I think both will fit well, so I might write both (one as an "alternate ending") if the poll results are close. Please take note that the ending choices are completely unrelated to whether or not the ending will be a happy one, so don't let a preference for happy endings influence your vote. I'm not promising that there will be a happy ending, I'm not promising that there will be a sad one; either choice could go either way. I'm keeping the poll blind, because I do not want to give away any more than I already have. I'm starting this now, because though I have the whole story outlined, I need to plan the details now for all of it to work. However, if I get an inbox full of outrage at my lack of literary fortitude, I will end the poll immediately, bite the bullet, and pick one on my own like I should be doing anyway. :) THE OLD STUFF: I recently discovered the Traffic Stats tab for my account, and I have to say it's pretty nifty (I am easily impressed). Therefore it has come to my attention that people have actually looked at my profile -- and found NOTHING. So I suppose I ought to put something here. Don't get too excited; keep your expectations low and you'll be less disappointed. :) As stated in the Author's note in Chapter One of my one and only story published here, I am an out-of-practice writer trying to get my groove back. I had been working on an original project that continued to frustrate me, so I am taking a break and getting some exercise with Fanfiction. For those of you kind enough to take the time to read my story, please take the time to review also; I find it helpful to know what my readers like and don't like, find confusing or difficult, etc. While I write generally for other's enjoyment, this little excursion is also very much for my benefit: outside perspective is an incredibly important element in developing the storyteller's craft. For those of you who read my story and who also do your own writing, please do not be offended that I fail to comment on any of your work. I will do it eventually, but allow me a moment to explain myself: I am in a difficult spot creatively with my original work, and to get out of that I want to remain free of any outside influence for this exercise. I read a couple of Hunger Games one-shots before I got started, and then avoided reading fanfiction when I started writing my own. Once the gears are loosened up and back in working order, I'll venture out again. If anyone would like to link to my story (from other fansites and whatnot) I am happy to give permission - the more opportunity for feedback from readers, the better! I ask that only two conditions be met: 1) Please, of course, credit me as the original writer because it's the right thing to do and I'd do the same for you, and 2) please send me a message to let me know, because I would think it's pretty cool ;) Finally, thank you all from the very bottom of my heart and soul for reading. You have lots of options when it comes to how to spend your time, and I'm flattered if my work merits a spot on your to-do list. Happy Trails! |
