Joining the fanfic crowd came on a fluke ... While visting the BSN thread "keep your love blue and true! Liara Fans" TheMarshal asked a very simple thing: "I was wondering if, in your travels, you guys had come across any fics that centered around Liara but did not focus on her romance with Shepard? Are there any fics where she's actually romancing someone else (not OC's or SI's, please)." I piped up a little hesitant: "I have been writing my own story about Shepard & Liara for my game (just for my own enjoyment). I had started just writing about Shepard pre-ME1 but as I continued writing, Liara was in my head saying "But what was I doing at this time?" Crazy, I know. With follow-up encouragement from TheMarshal , Ophiskc , Kachie and Kadzin I decided to go ahead and share what I saw as the backstory to E.W. Shepard. I wanted to know what she had lost at 16 years old when the batarians destroyed everything that she loved. I wanted to mourn with her as she thought of her family and friends ... Then Liara spoke up and begged to have her story told as well. After all, she experienced a great loss and her life forever changed on Noveria. So here is my story of Elizabeth Whisper Shepard and the asari named Liara T'Soni that she would one day lose her heart too. If you don't enjoy my ghastly story, please blame it on the “unrepentant four” as Hannah Shepard of "A Thessian's Whisper" would call them. Coffee & Pooh: This is a short piece on P.V Shepard and Ashley M. Williams on board the Normandy. A special nod to xxSgt_Reed_24xx who gave me encouragement on this one. |
