I never know what to say in these things.

I am a writer, sort of. I write things that are seldom seen by people who are outside my own head. Someday, I'm going to publish a real book, but for now I'll settle for pulling up a chair in the fanfiction world and letting my little twiddles escape into the ether of the internet.

My username comes from a book by Amitav Ghosh called The Circle of Reason, which says that "Rhetoric is only language flexing its muscles." In addition to Ghosh's works, I also like to read mysteries, dramas, literary fiction, classics, and urban fantasy. I have, at various times in my life, become obsessed with Robin McKinley, Dick Francis, and the Broadway musical Jekyll & Hyde.

And now I have to stop writing, because in my time that's not taken up re-watching Sherlock and finding Martin Freeman desktop wallpaper, I am a university instructor who needs to grade papers.
