![]() The Snarky Sidekick Contest (~aka~ That Pam) Congratulations to our winner, hummingbirds2, with her very snarky oneshot, Dead and Dinner on the Doorstep! We would also like to thank each and every contestant for their own wonderful entries! A note from Sassy, The Snarky Sidekick contest was thought up and implemented as a way to bring more Snarky Pam stories to the SVM fandom. Upon reading the SVM series and learning of FanFiction (and all the incredibly talented authors herein), I was disappointed with the number of stories that really drew on the jewel that is PamSnark. Then Alan Ball and True Blood happened. While I might not fully appreciate the direction he has taken the characters in all the time, he has done one thing perfectly; he gave us a truly exceptional Pam. I approached my friend MommaMinion40 about co-hosting a contest with me, asking her if she thought that anyone would enter a contest focusing on Pam. She did, and as I slowly asked other friends and authors about the idea, they thought so as well. Amazingly, seven other women, all incredible FF writers in their own rights, agreed to help judge the contest entries (and hold my hand along the way). My many thanks to all of the wonderful ladies who helped with this contest: you all rock! We asked for the snarkiest, sassiest, mouthiest and most opinionated Pam authors could think of; sarcasm and Dear Abby insights were more than welcome. We weren’t looking for emo Pam-isms or the "sensitive best friend type” of girl seen in some stories, but instead we wanted the razor sharp wit that we’ve come to know, love, and expect from Pam. And most of all, we wanted to laugh at the situations she got herself into and out of with some of her most famous lines. Stories could be any pairing or no pairing at all, any universe, vamp or human, but all stories had to either be told in Pam’s POV or have Pam as the main character. We asked authors to tap into their inner snarks and let Pam speak. This was also a one-shot contest; therefore all entries had to have a defined conclusion at the end. (Though we would love to see them all continued on now that the contest is over!) Thank you for checking out this contest profile, and for reading the entries that were submitted by nine very talented FanFiction authors. ~Sassyvampmama Judging was based on: Basic flow of the storyline Believability of the story Originality of plot Character development Was the story satisfactorily wrapped up at the end (was the conclusion sufficient to call it a one-shot)? Correct usage of basic grammar, sentence structure and spelling Did the story accurately capture the spirit of the contest? The judges were: Kjwrit, Miral, Moxiemo, Northwoman, Suki59, Svmfan1 and Vicvega66 Please check out their profiles to read their amazing SVM/TB related stories, if you haven't already done so.
