Author has written 5 stories for Hunger Games, and Sailor Moon. Hey there. I'm Rocket! Up until recently known as graceling42. Pleased to meet you! Check me out on tumblr at rocketonthemoon Stories: Finding Myself - My problem child, as I affectionally call it. On Hiatus until further notice. Pictures of Us - Updating as often as I can. Just a little about me: The government considers me an adult, but all that really know me would agree I'm probably around the age of 5. A lot of what I like to do - watching anime, reading new books, writing the next chapter for my fics - isn't done as much as I would like, but that's what being a full-time student plus a job or two will do to your life, eh? I don't write as much as I'd like, but I'm writing more and more now, so hopefully it shows. I've difficulty keeping my attention on long-range ideas and I can't sit in one place for more than about fifteen minutes without feeling restless. Unfortunately, this has come to affect my writings. A lot of what I write is little snip-its and scenes that I just jot down cause it's in my head. Stories with actual plot lines take forever for me to get done, as my Finding Myself readers can probably attest to. So mainly, I stick to one-shots. In my opinion, fan fiction is like playing with some one else's toys: You can play however you want for as long as you want, just as long as you don't break them or take them home. This means I don't do OOC's. Flat out no. To me, OOC is breaking the character. If you need a bad guy, make up a bad guy or use one of the ones from the series. It's fan fiction. You can do that. Now, maybe my stories sound different from the original, but that's me writing in my style. I will try and stay as true as possible to the original but hey, things happen. I do a lot of research before I write to make sure I don't break character, but things sometimes get lost in interpretation. I will never ever take credit for someone else's work. Plots are mine, and sometimes I get inspired by other people's stories, but I try to be as different as possible. If you ever find my work to be a direct copy or uncomfortably similar to someone else's work, please please please let me know. On the subject of Sailor Moon: I adore this show. Truly, it's my favorite anime and always has been. I watched it occasionally while I was growing up and I remember being enthralled whenever I saw it. Then, with the combination of rediscovering my childhood and the news that the anime was coming back in 2013 (now 2014) I decided to re-watch the entire series. Subbed. 'Cause truthfully I'd only ever seen the english dubbed until that point. Then the manga started being re-released and I found the old scans online and my love just exploded. I much prefer the anime ending to the series (the manga was very confusing and sudden) but I love the tension in the manga. Even if the villains are a tad disposable. As a result, my collection Pictures of Us is a mix of both anime and manga with various bits of headcanon thrown in. Growing up, my favorite was Ami/Sailor Mercury, but I'm convinced if I had ever seen the subbed version of S as a kid, I'd be as in love with Haruka/Sailor Uranus as I am now. Maybe even more so. That being said, these two will always show up in any fan fiction I do of Sailor Moon. Haruka is my absolute favorite and I think she and Michiru are the most perfect couple ever to appear in a show and I want to give whoever wrote their lines in Stars an award. Personally, I write Starlights as women for most of the things that I do. That is, unless I'm writing them as genderfluid in which case Haruka will probably most likely also be in whatever piece I'm writing. Also, they're not related. I'm going with the idea that "Kou" is not their family name but their given name seeing as it comes second in their names, even when they introduce themselves in the anime - ex. Seiya Kou, Yaten Kou, Taiki Kou, Hino Rei, Aino Minako, Tenoh Haruka... you get the picture. What does this mean? Maybe it's a title given to Senshi back on their home planet. Maybe they all were just named that when they were born. Maybe the three of them liked the name and couldn't decide who should have it when they got to Earth so all of them took it. I dunno. There's a crazy amount of debate out there so go read some if you want to know more. That's just what I'm sticking with. I ship lots of things and don't ship certain pairs but that's pretty clear from my writings I think. So anyways that's me. Thanks for caring enough to read anything |
