Author has written 5 stories for Troy, Gladiator, and Halo. I'm a bunny in a panther suit. Hi lovelies! As a self-professed nerd, I've loved literature for as long as I can remember. I recently rediscovered my passion for writing by chance when I needed to create fictional stories for an English course, and so I dusted off the old imagination and tried to remember my voice. Now, I've become a slave to my writing! When I'm not working on these stories, I'm writing original short fiction, volunteering with adorable kittens, reading about various historical periods, chatting up my Romanian sister soulmate, or most likely shopping... for shoes. Resistance was my first baby, and it's testament to my simultaneous out-of-practice skills and experimental nature. It has anything and everything you can fit into a story, but I do love the shameless spontaneity of it all. Be warned, though, it's full of mistakes, and I keep swearing I'll edit it one of these days... It's on one of those never-ending to-do lists. Girl in the War was my next endeavor, and it shows my desire for a more mature subject. Admittedly, it grew into a year-long project when I abruptly shifted directions half-way through the story. Not a smart move on my part, but the right decision for the story. Again, I hope I'll edit it one of these days and adopt it into an original story. Haven was my third project and directly inspired by my love for ancient Rome, while my heroine came to me after reading a biography on Cleopatra followed by The Forgotten Queens of Islam by Fatimah Mernissi -which is a brilliantly insightful book for any interested in female leadership in the ancient Middle East (not that I claim my character is any way an accurate example of women from this time period -end disclaimer). It is a challenge for me to be more concise and fast-paced, but I'm a work in progress, constantly trying to find the right balance of description, action, and dialogue :) The Lost Kings of Troy is a sequel to Girl in the War, which I swore I would never do so consider my pants on fire. It came about after perusing through my old stories and rediscovering my passion for Girl in the War. With this story, I am exploiting my artistic license and enjoying the liberty to create my own universe, inspired by Greek & Roman mythology. Oblivion is my current endeavor after having gone home for the holidays and remembering my love for the infamous game. I was inspired by the prologue to Halo 4, and I wanted to challenge myself in a genre that was out of my norm. It forces me to be more direct, explicit, and less flowery. It's difficult, I feel overwhelmed at times, but I think it will help me grow as a writer. If you're curious about my writing, want to discuss literature, history, and/or fashion, or anything else, feel free to PM me! xoxo |
