Haven't been around much (or accomplishing anything fic wise, oops) lately; found out my father died unexpectedly just after Christmas. He lived in one time zone, I'm in another, and the funeral was two times zones over from where I live. He was only 54, I was in no way ready for this. Plus, nothing like organizing a funeral to make you want to kill someone else you're related to...but then there'd be *two* funerals to plan instead. Logic saves the day again. So, instead, I offer you snip-its of To Be Finished Fics: "I'm not sure Xena- maybe if we had time to discuss this as a committee?" "One- I am *not* a committee." "Ow!" "And two- I'm sure Yoda's 'size matters not' theory is very comforting to your Ewok sized self. Actually..." {Small, hairy, and annoying. Are you sure you're not part Ewok monkey boy?} o0O0o Since I have nothing of value to post right now, I'm stealing this idea from tucuxi to do snip-its of things I have cooking instead. -The one where Marco goes shopping before Rachel's funeral (Ironically, started this weeks ago): Jake had, admittedly, been less than helpful in picking out suit jackets and somber ties: mainly he stared off into the crowd bustling through the hallways of the mall, fruitlessly searching for a familiar face and mane of blond hair to swoop in, ridicule his fashion sense, and replace his chosen items- limp and practically ignored in his big hands- with her own; but for all they are in her favorite habitat, Rachel isn't coming to save the day. -The one where Jake has postmortem conversations with memories of Rachel and Tom: "You're going to be spend the rest of your life staring at that horizon, aren't you Jake? You have the entire world at your feet, you can literally gain access to pretty much *anywhere* and you keep coming back here. Why?" "Well, you certainly tell us a hell of a lot more than you talk to that fancy psychologist our parents keep making you see about." -And the one where I want to work in a lot of silly pop cultural group references, just because they're fun: "Are you sure, Marco? Because I'm pretty sure I see me more as the fearless, cheeky R2-D2 hell bent on completing it's mission to your somewhat wimpy C3P0 who hangs back from everything because it's irrational myself ." |
