A World Behind the Murder is something I started back when I was only (GASP) fourteen years old, and I'm amazed that it's grown so much in the past six years. What started as a simple attempt to blend two entirely different genres--horror and romance--became my own philosophical inquiry into attraction, fate, and death. BLAH, that sounds entirely too pedantic, but truly, the story has been a blast to write. For those wondering how much longer it has, I do intend to finish it, and I'm guessing it'll cap out somewhere between 80,000 and 90,000 words--so only about five chapters left! I have big plans in store for the insanely (ha) fun Beyond Birthday and his (sidekick? nemesis?) Leigh.

And, I want to continue it! It's been difficult for me to come up with new stories when I have one that refuses to let me go. So even though this first book will be finished, I intend to write at the very least a second one. Whether it will continue with Leigh or not will be left a mystery (can't give away the ending of this current one!) but Beyond will most certainly be involved.

Meanwhile, I apologize for how rough the drafts are of the chapters I've posted so far. I don't really edit, and if I do, it's only if I go back to reread a section and realize I made a mistake (oops). Also, since this has been so long in the running and my style has changed slightly since it first began, I'm embarrassed by how choppy some of the writing is. Overall, I'm really trying to improve my narrative voice and make it flow a bit better, so any tips as far as that goes are greatly appreciated!

Also, as I said before, I created this account and these stories to work on my writing skills. Feedback, comments, critique--all help! Which I know I've stated a lot, but I really mean it. So thanks to anyone who reviews! It also encourages me to keep writing and I need the encouragement!

On another note, I've decided that if I write another fanfiction it might have to do with another anime universe. (Full Metal Alchemist? Maybe even dip into my middle school favorite, Fruits Basket?) If anyone has anything they'd like to see me write, shoot me a message! I can't promise it'll be good but I'll do my best. :)
