Reader Questions...
Q: What do you use for Inspiration? (from Alex)
A: I haven't read the comics in years, and to be truthful haven't really watched the Evolution series in a good long while either. The episodes usually just come to me in a simple idea and they usually expand from there. I use to pick up alot of inspiration from music (which is why so many episode chapters and titles are named after songs), but these days the inspiration just seems to come in on it's own. I can sit there and look at a blank page on open office writer and start writing and the story will seem to develop on it's own without much thought (almost like someone else is writing it, as crazy as that sounds). As for other places to find inspiration, movies, television, books help - it can literally come from anywhere. Hearing a single phrase from a movie can sometimes write a whole storyline for me in my head.
Q: Is the story going to continue past episode 24 of Revelations or will it end there?
A: I can't really predict how I'll feel by the end of the series; of course I have other ideas that run way in to the future, but whether or not there's enough ideas to warrent a fourth series is another matter. I guess we'll have to see. :)
Q: Who is Jessie's mother? Is it Carmel Graham?
A: No, definately not the daughter of Carmel Graham. Moira MacTaggart ran DNA searches through the Muir Island Research Facility computers where Carmel and other past or present staff-members already have their DNA profiles - if she'd been Jessie's mother, it would have been established by now.
Q: Who is the father of Kitty's child?
A: Ryan Bloom, a hacker. Somewhere between the end of the first series of DA and before the start of DA 2010, Kitty dated Ryan's older brother Tommy - a hacker who went to prison for hacking into the Bayville Bank. Kitty spent some intimate time with Ryan in exchange for computer software that would help the X-Men locate Remy when he was missing. Caleb Pryde is the result of that union.
Q: So...Jessie is a mutant? We haven't seen her using her powers...so what are they exactly?
A: She can absorb electricity from any source within a ten feet radius and use it in the form of beams, blasts and spheres. She can also create static charges just powerful enough to slightly shock people by rubbing her fingers together.
Q: Where did Bobby go? Why are Logan or Storm rarely mentioned? And why does Kurt keep coming and going?
A: Bobby ran off to "clear his head" when Rogue ditched him. It's most likely since no one seems to be worried that the Professor knows where he is. As for Kurt, Kurt lives in Scotland now with Excalibur. As for other characters, they come in and out of the mansion just like the characters do in the comics, sometimes they just visit briefly during missions/events. The story mostly is focusing on Rogue and Remy so I don't always find it necessary to include them or the other X-Men in every episode whether they're there or not.
Q: When will Remy be able to tell Jessie about their true relationship to each other?
A: It would be difficult for her to understand how this exactly could be and until Remy can understand the truth, he can't share his knowledge with his daughter.
Q: How many people are aware of Jessie's relationship to Remy and who are they?
A: Professor Xavier, Kitty Pryde, Jean Grey (Scott doesn't know incidentally just because she does), Hank McCoy, Moira MacTaggart. There's also a chance a telepathic student MAY know the truth from accidentally reading someone's thoughts, but I'll leave that up to interpretation.
