Author has written 52 stories for X-Men: Evolution, Naruto, Ouran High School Host Club, Wolverine & the X-Men, Glee, X-Men, X-Men: The Movie, Spider-Man, and Avengers. Hey everybody! Thanks for visiting my page. Check out the "Hypocritical!Finn" meme sometime, it's hilarious! Disclaimer: I do not own any copyrighted works or products referenced in my stories, nor is any profit gained. Hobbies: Rock-climbing, deep-sea fishing, speedboat racing, watching old movies. Bands/Singers I enjoy: Social Distortion, Skye Sweetman, Eve 6, Nickelback, Matchbox 20, Justin Timberlake, Superchick, Evanescence, and AC/DC. There are others, but these are the main ones. I support Kankuro as a Knight Templar Big Brother. If you do too, copy and paste this into your profile. http:///pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/KnightTemplarBigBrother Ninety-five percent of the fanfiction writers out there are concerned with writing mainstream pairings just so their stories get more reviews. If you're part of the five percent who aren't, copy this, put it in your profile, and add your name to the list. Artemis's Liege There's this "Hogwarts House Sorting" quiz that's floating around on Tumblr. I have to dissect it, because it's so ridiculous. GRYFFINDOR: You’ve never done illegal drugs. I really don't see what this has to do with it. Romilda Vane was a Gryffindor, and she was willing to spike someone's food with love potion. You have a lot of friends. Gryffindor's defining trait = courage. Courage sometimes means standing out from the crowd and doing what's right instead of what's popular, i.e., helping a persecuted minority in society instead of deriding them as everyone else does. Popularity does not necessarily equate with morality. You get along with everyone. Ron was a Gryffindor, and he could be pretty belligerent. Likewise, Percy and the Weasley twins were in Gryffindor, but they certainly didn't get along with everyone. Harry certainly didn't get along with any Slytherin. You haven’t made fun of someone for at least two months. The Mauraders were Gryffindors. And James and Sirius basically appeared to devote their younger years to generally being jackasses to anyone they didn't like, while Pettigrew stood to the side and snickered, and Remus looked the other way. You love soccer. How do muggle sports equate with personalities of the wizarding world? You love baseball. Ditto. You’re into writing and art. Artistic stuff strikes me as more of a Ravenclaw thing, but no House showed a particular penchant for the arts. Favourite music genre is pop rock. How do muggle music genres affect wizards, again? You believe in "innocent until proven guilty" theory. Harry and Ron were always pretty eager to accuse Snape, Malfoy, random Slytherin, ect., without very much evidence. One of your favourite colours is red or gold. While I understand the correlation, color preference does not determine personality. Good grades at school. Harry and Ron were average students, with the exception of DADA for Harry. Neville was Gryffindor, and his talents were pretty much limited to Herbology. The Weasley twins got passed three of their O.W.L.s each, and they were in Gryffindor. Hermione was a good student, and everyone was surprised that she wasn't in Ravenclaw. One of the worst things you can do is lie. Hermione put the luck potion in Ron's drink. Harry, Ron, and Hermione continuously lied throughout their six years at Hogwarts, to students, professors, and to their guardians. You plan on going to college/university. Seems more Ravenclaw to me. Wouldn't Gryffindors be more adventurous and go out to explore the world? HUFFLEPUFF: You’re content with mostly everything in your life right now. This is actually a relevant question for Hufflepuffs. I'm kind of surprised. You laugh a lot. I don't see the correlation. Ernie Macmillan was rather serious. Tonks liked to laugh, but it was part of her personality; she later became depressed. The Weasley twins were class clowns, and they later opened a joke shop, but they were Gryffindors. You like to follow trends. I don't see the correlation. Politics suck. So . . . what? Being hardworking means that you don't have any sort of opinion? You love to swim. I don't see the correlation. Water polo is awesome. Why are muggle sports relevant to Hogwarts Houses?! Pink is one of your favourite colours. I don't see the correlation. What does color have to do with anything? Black is morbid & depressing. Black was one of the Hufflepuff House colors. I'm beginning to think that this "quiz" was written by a teenybopper who has no understanding of the Harry Potter books. You’re an optimist. Relevance! You’re completely straight edged. Not for long, though, sadly. Ernie Macmillan and Hannah Abott both seemed to enjoy being the center of attention. Justin Finch-Fletchley admired Lockhart, thought he was brave, ect. You’re very emotional. Every House has emotional people. Not just Hufflepuff. Rap, R&B, & hip-hop is your favourite music genre. Those urban Hufflepuffs! Such gangstas! You don’t believe in going steady at a young age. What does this have to do with anything? You’ve made fun of at least one person this week. But wait, this "quiz" just claimed that Hufflepuffs are "straight edged" "optimists." How does that translate to mocking others? Furthermore, I don't recall the many occasions that Hufflepuffs were mean to others. I seem to recall in Chamber of Secrets, they were afraid of Harry because they thought he was plotting to kill them, but that's about it. RAVENCLAW: You’re depressed to a certain extent. I don't recall much depression in Ravenclaws beyond Moaning Myrtle and judging by how irritated others got with her, her personality was atypical. You love to read. My God, it's sad when I'm surprised that one of these is actually relevant. You appreciate theatre & arts. Relevance! It makes sense that the intelligent House would have sophisticated tastes. One more makes three. Sports suck. Cho Chang loved Quidditch; she was at the World Cup. Luna Lovegood seemed to enjoy it, with her various hats and such, even if she did talk about clouds and stuff during her match commentary. You’re shy. Roger Davies had no problem snogging a girl (Fleur) on the first date. That doesn't really strike me as "shy." And wouldn't Ravenclaws be always raising their hands, giving answers, demonstrating spells and the like in the classroom? Loyalty is the MOST important thing in a relationship. Hufflepuffs were the ones all about loyalty. Gryfinndors probably value it as well. Hate is completely unneeded. When was this mentality ever shown in the books? A few Ravenclaws joined Dumbledore's Army, after all, and Cho hated Umbridge. Indie is your favourite genre of music. I still don't see what music has to do with anything. Every once in awhile you have little anger outbursts. Judging by Harry, Ron, Hermione, and Ginny, this seems like more like a hot-headed Gryffindor attribute. Lying is sometimes okay. Finally, relevance, at long last. Blue is one of your favourite colours. I know where this is coming from, but I still don't see why color should determine personality. Serious is better than funny. Ravenclaws were all about witty riddles. And Luna didn't tell many jokes, but she seemed to laugh at some of Ron's comments. "Wit beyond measure is man's greatest treasure." Quote from Rowena Ravenclaw, which was also etched into her diadem. "Wit" could refer to both intelligence and clever humor in this case. SLYTHERIN: There’s at least one person you hate. Only Slytherins hate people, after all. James and Sirius never hated Snape. Harry never hated Snape, Umbridge, or Voldemort. None of the Weasleys ever hated the Malfoys. Nope, it's just Slytherins who know how it is to hate people. Basketball is a good sport. The type of sports you like don't even have much correlation with your personality in the normal world, so I don't see how muggle sports impact figurative wizards. Football is amazing. Oh, I get it! The popular media formula: someone who likes football = jock. Jock = jerk. Jerk = Slytherin. Is that about right? Seriously, allow room for individual personalities. Not every jock is a jerk, and not every Slytherin is teh evulz. Black is a cool colour. Oh, this Disney sentiment that dark colors = evil. Gotta love the naïveté. I'm sure black is seen as more distinguished and respectable, but what does this question have to do with anything? You’ve lied about something serious. Slytherins are all lying, evul jerkfaces! Every last one of 'em! They're nothing but an amoral collective without any individual personalities! Just ask J.K. Rowling! You’re a very deep person. Actually, many of typical Slytherin views seemed to rest on aristocracy, which itself rests upon image and social and monetary status. Kind of shallow, actually. You have considered suicide. "I thought that to belong in Gryffindor house you were supposed to be brave? It looks to me like you would have been better off in my own house. We Slytherins are brave, yes, but not stupid. For instance, given the choice, we will always choose to save our own necks." Phineas Nigellus, Order of the Phoenix, page 494-495. Slytherins value self-preservation. That's not to say that no Slytherin could ever be suicidal, but suicidal feelings are not exclusive to Slytherins. Very loyal. Loyalty is a Hufflepuff trait that also appears in Gryffindors. Notice that most of the Death Eaters left Voldemort when they had the chance? You like metal. Muggle bands have nothing to with Hogwarts Houses. They make school seem more important than it is. A Slytherin would probably use school to prove themselves ("a thirst to prove yourself", which would be ambition), and they might also believe the "knowledge is power" adage. Notice that Lucius Malfoy nagged Draco about his performance in school because he thought Draco wasn't working hard enough. You’re scared to grow up. I really don't see how this correlates, unless this refers to receiving the dark mark and becoming a Death Eater. You’ve done drugs in the past month. Yes, let's relinquish control and power to the mind-numbing effects of drugs. It's cool to be vulnerable. Again, self-preservation is a defining trait of Slytherins. I don't see why they would be the House using drugs, unless it's the whole "Slytherins are teh evulz!!11" thing again. Anger is one of your primary feelings. Anger is evil!11 Anger leads to the dark side!!1! But seriously, Draco Malfoy wasn't very angry, just malicious and later on, desperate. You have trust issues. Bad wording. "Cynical" or "control freak" might be a better descriptor. Guilty until proven innocent Considering the various Death Eater trials and accusations against Slytherins at Hogwarts all the time, I think that they'd appreciate the reverse more. That quiz was even more useless than I expected; it's meaningless through its lack of accuracy for House attributes. I don't know why anyone would bother with it, but at least it raised a few laughs, even if they were laughs of incredulity. Naruto pairings I can't stand: Gaara/Sakura- No. I hate it. She doesn't ever express any romantic feelings for him, nor he for her. This might be because Gaara isn't a main character and they never have much screentime with him, but seriously? I realize this might seem hypocritical, due to my listing of Gaara/Tenten, but that's easier to work with. Because Tenten doesn't have as much screentime, she's more malleable then Sakura, and her character can be interperted several different ways. Sakura may be likeable, but she's naive and self-centered, as all teenagers can be. I don't believe Sakura could even begin to handle Gaara's emotional scars. And don't tell me he doesn't have any- his father tried to kill him. Do you think Gaara, who suffered for years and then suffered some more, could ever hold a positive relationship with someone who couldn't even begin to understand his pain? I doubt it. And in AU High School fics, it's even worse. Just let this one go, people. Sasuke/Sakura- When did he ever indicate he liked her? Sasuke has defected, why would she continue to love someone who's tired to kill her friends and destroy her village? He obviously doesn't care about her. At all. I get that Sakura's crush is canon, but I can't ever see Sasuke returning her feelings. He's too cold adn self-interested. Neji/Tenten- I'm torn on this. One thing I hate is that this pairing is so commonplace. Another thing I hate is that people insist that it's canon. It isn't. If Nejiten is well-written, I'll read the story, and perhaps even enjoy it. I don't like that so many people just pair them together for the sake of pairing them together. Most of the time it is in fact Tenten fans who pair them up, and I don't think they realize that they're almost degrading Tenten in a way. Is that it? Does she seriously not have any purpose besides falling for Neji? Maybe because I've read so many tepid Nejiten fics that I'm just sick of it, but I honestly don't think Nejiten has enough basis, or even chemistry. Naruto Rants: Tenten hates Sakura for "stealing" her role as Tsunade's apprentice: I know that Tenten admires Tsunade, but they don't use the same fighting techniques. At all. Tenten uses weapons. Tsunade uses super-strength. Very little similarity other than the taijutsu. And furthermore, Tenten has never even expressed any interest in medical jutsu, so why would she want to Tsunade's apprentice? C'mon people, she's happy with her own team. Kankuro and Temari as the worst siblings in the history of the universe (Even worse than Cain): I don't even know where this comes from. They care about Gaara, even in Part I, when he doesn't care about them. And then in Part II, Kankuro risked his own life to save Gaara, knowing that he more than likely would fail. He would've died just to try to save Gaara, not even to rescue. He obviously cares about his brother a helluva lot, so why do people write him and Temari as such jerks? Lee and/or Guy written as way insensitive, overly youthful, ridiculous idiots: I do know where this comes from, but you have to remember that both are strong, intelligent ninja despite being somewhat . . .peculiar. Tenten way OOC: I realize the databook says that she has the tact of a sledgehammer, but she isn't stupid or cruel. In the Chunin exams, Tenten found a way to help Lee pass the written exams, while Sakura just had to sit and hope Naruto pulled through. In a practical sense, who's smarter here? Any character way OOC: This is self-explanatory. Gaara as an emotionless prick after Part II: Yes, Gaara does have emotional issues, but he does care about his family and friends, even if he doesn't outwardly show it. He isn't going to walk away from someone he cares about when he knows they need help. Neji as an emotionless prick: Okay, yeah, he does come across as cold. Yes, he did inform Lee he would always be a failure. But he doesn't want to hurt Lee; he obviously cares for him to some extent, after all during the Chunin exams he told the Oto nin that "no one is allowed to use our teammate as a punching bag" or something to that extent. Yes, he can be a jerk, but he's not fixtated on making Lee's life a misery! Tenten loses to Temari not once but twice in the Chunin exams: Come on. Seriously. She has been training in order to defeat Temari, and there's no possible way she can win? I get that Kishimoto basically only shows her losses, but if she's able to spar with Neji and survive, she must be somewhat talented. Hated X-Men Evolution pairings: Logan/Kitty- Just . . . no. I don't even understand where this pairing comes from. It just doesn't work; the maturity levels are too vastly different. Pietro/Kitty- This annoys me, because frankly, they are far, far from ever being compatible with one another. Scott/anyone besides Rogue, Jean or Emma Frost if she's brought into the story. X-Men: Evolution Rants: Rogue as a homewrecker: I've heard people call Rogue a homewrecker for crushing on Scott when he and Jean were supposedly "an item." First of all, in Season 1 Jean and Scott were nothing more than friends. Then in Season 2, Jean was dating Ducan, but crushing on Scott. Then when Jean and Ducan broke up, Jean and Scott went to the concert in "Self-Possessed" as "friends." Their words, not mine. And by this time, Rogue had really lost interest in Scott, mainly due to being too busy because she was being constantly used and abused by Mystique, going insane, then being used by Mystique again. So how can Rogue be a "homewrecker," when there isn't anything to "wreck?" If you're going to argue that Jean and Scott were "meant to be" and Jean was just "pretending to like Duncan," that would make Jean an "adulterer." Rogue's written out accent: This really annoys me, because it promotes the stereotype that people from the South can't speak English properly. Please, just stop it. |
