Personal Update! Finally! (Sorry guys!)

Notice to all:

I recently began attending a monthly writer's group and they are marvelous people. I would seriously suggest that if you're writing for more than just pleasure that you do the same. We writers really need to stick together, and there is no better place to learn than from others trying to improve their craft as well.

I opened an E-store on TeeSpring. I am turning my attention to my sadly neglected blog. I am also turning my attention to my Instagram/Facebook/Twitter and thinking about a Youtube channel. Also considering Ko-Fi, and a few others. Any details regarding any of this will be up on my page as it becomes available. So trying to be industrious in my writing and making it into a hobby that supports me.

About this YouTube channel: I would discuss my stories, answer questions and comments in person, give reviews on other stories, give reviews on published works, give inspiration, take you all to some of my favorite spots, possibly introduce you to some other mildly crazy people and a thousand and one other things. I haven't made up my mind yet so please let me know what you think.

Also I'm working on getting Zugzwang ready for publication. (Didn't I already do this?) and checking into what magazines and the like I can send short stories to, as well as contests and so on. So if you happen to have a suggestion, like the beautiful person who suggested Inkitt, please let me know.

Again thank you all!

JR

Story Update:

Current story in progress:

Stargate 'verse Atlantis galaxy

Stargate Atlantis: Earth and Sky Revised (Working title.) Starring all my favorites from the Stargate television/ movie universe and Introducing Dr. Sophie McIntyre and her son Luka, so far. Going AU before SGU. As much as I like Eli and may bring him in later on in another capacity, I hate SGU. And that's nothing on the actors because they chose an all star cast, but the writing was all teenage angst and not enough comedy or sci fi. And for a sci fi show to be more akin to high school drama than science fiction despite being set on a literal space ship? Difficult to do. Like that took real effort. Someone must have pulled a muscle to do those writing acrobatics. No wonder it was canceled so quickly from one of the most successful sci fi drama series ever to exist.

WIPs:

Possible upcoming projects in no order of priority: (any of the opinions expressed in this section are simply that. Personal opinions and nothing more. As my mother would say "That and a dollar fifty would buy a cup of tea. Maybe." Pay no attention if you don't agree with them. And if you do… um… Okay.)

Lotr- It will be both a 10th walker story and something you have never seen before!

Mummy (1999 and 2001 versions. I'm sorry but the 2008 version was not a good addition. Just no…)- Because Ardeth needs an ending. Yes I know it's been done before. But not my way. Trust me. I've looked.

Buffy- Because Spike got a crappy ending and I've never read the graphic novels or books so I can't be copying it and I never really liked Buffy herself. Too much "Oh woe is me." Not enough "I'm taking charge of my own life" until there was an apocalypse battle and she was leading the charge. Yeah, for a further rant on this see the first chapter Author Note on this story when it comes out. Otherwise, Spike needs a different ending. Also, didn't like Angel, he and Buffy deserved each other.

True Blood- I got bored with the TV show after Dallas and never read the books. Sookie is an adult Buffy who never grew up mentally. So yeah, Eric needs a different ending.

StarTrek- Because Spock and Bones are the coolest characters of the original series.

Outlander- Because I don't like Claire. Just bear with me. It will be nothing like you've seen. Trust me. I have so much in mind for this one guys… So SO MUCH. Like… Crap I can't tell you that!

HP- Neville. Just Neville. Everyone underestimates him until the last...Seriously. He's a grower, not a shower.

GOT- Drogo. Daenerys can accomplish her thing some other way. Leave Drogo alone and alive, Mother of Dragons.

Twilight- I didn't like Bella. I don't like her kid. There was no point to either one of them. Jacob needs someone stronger. People have tried it, but not the way I was thinking about.

Terra Nova- Because I like the Shannons, the show was too "Disney", there should have been more to Wash (what is it with characters named Washburn getting bad endings?), Taylor needed to be younger (although I seriously love the actor playing him. Major acting skills.) and be fleshed out as a character more. And I really want to off his creepy son. But if I make Taylor younger... Lucas can't be his son or he'd be like 10... Hmmm...

Firefly- Just… it's like an open wound just festering there the way they left it. And Wash... Joss… Come on man! Oh yeah, this may or may not be a crossover with the next category.

Riddick- because man… Jack shouldn't have died that way and its like killing a dog. Just bad. Granted I didn't like the timeline of the saga either but yeah.

Sherlock- Because Sherlock Holmes.

M*A*S*H- (actually this one is actually in progress) Because I want to follow Hawkeye through until he's an old doctor sitting on his front porch in Crabapple Cove eating lobster and apple pie and drinking a beer because he can't stand the taste of vodka cough moonshine cough anymore without having flashbacks of Korea.

Primeval- Because I think Jessica should have been written differently, didn't like how Matt's story just ended, and want someone different for Becker. Also, Connor and Abby? What did Abby whisper in the ending of the show? (we will pretend New World never happened. I like the characters and the premise but thought the story arc was... subpar.)

Sleepy Hollow- Because that was a crappy ending and the show ended too soon.

Hawaii 5-O- Because other than one extremely talented author on this site, I haven't found much I like. And Steve needs a better foil than Cath. She was too… Weak as a character and didn't balance him at all. And Danny, as a partner and friend is fantastic, but Steve and Danny need a bit of a balance outside of their relationship.

Eureka- Because I like Lexie and think Carter should have another sister to give him crap in a different way.

X-Men - Because I like Victor and Logan. I have a thing for gruff men who could go either way. Who are capable of great badness and choose something else. Also, I really don't like Jean. Like at all.

Thor/Avengers/Captain America/Ironman/Etc...- Because Loki and Bucky deserve more story for the same reason as Victor and Logan.

Aquaman- Because Arthur. I'm not fond of Mera. Maybe that will change but so far...

Conan the Barbarian- Because he's such a fascinating character. A dichotomy of rough edges, violence (violent world) and tenderness (hard to see sometimes) and vastly intelligent. Same reason I like Riddick.

Thor/Avengers: I like Loki. I do. Something about a character that is morally ambiguous but chooses to do something, good or bad, is much more interesting than the good character who does good things. And no I'm not talking about an anti-hero, because they are at their core a hero. They may go about it in screwed up ways and get things wrong but they are still a hero. Loki isn't. He is neither hero nor villain and that is fascinating.

Various short stories and one-shots..

Completed stories:

Avatar 'Verse

White Walls Red Blood (This story is not pretty and meant to show a damaged mind so it will not make sense! Strong M Rating!)

Breathe and Trust Me (Episode One in the Rayne Avatar 'Verse)

Source Material For the Avatar story universe:

For what was removed from the movie.

(the scenery and tutorial galleries are very helpful. But all of them have usable stuff for inspiration.)

Character inspiration

Rayne: Not exact considering Rayne has blue eyes and dark brown hair due to the slight amount of human genetic material in her dna and the fact that she was born and not designed so she doesn't look as close to the Na'vi as scientists could get her. But you get the idea. Props to the artist though. They did an amazing job.

I'll add more when I find it.

Hellboy 'Verse

Ticking Clocks and Falling Sands (Fic staring Prince Nuada and introducing Jada Kai Gry)

Notice about Prince Nuada!

Author's Request: since you are reading this story, I will assume you like Prince Nuada. There is an online petition to make a movie about the prince's life, or to bring him back somehow. It’s been there for some time now, but with this boost in Nuada fics, I shall assume the interest in him was renewed, so if you could go and view the awesome trailer and sign the petition and tell your friends to do it as well, would be just great!
