UPDATE: June 2020

Well, it's been a hot minute since I was last active on this site. Hello, again!

A few months ago, I got a resurgence of nostalgia for Naruto. While rereading the manga, I remembered that I never actually finished writing my Naruto fanfic despite promises that: no, the fic wasn't dead, and yes, it would be finished.

Oops.

The short story is that my hard-drive crashed in 2016 and none of my files were recoverable. I lost several unpublished chapters of A Rat's Nest, as well as progress for a new fanfic I had just finished outlining. I was demoralized and didn't even attempt to rewrite what I lost. Over time, my fanfiction writing withered away and was forgotten. Until now! In the era of Coronavirus, I've been using my new free time to wrap-up unfinished projects from over the years. A Rat's Nest is at the top of my "To Do" list.

For returning (2011-2019) readers: You may notice A Rat's Nest will be a bit different than the last time you read it. In order to finish writing it, I had to heavily edit or straight-up rewrite most of the chapters. My original drafts had boring details, plot threads going no where, and inconsistent character portrayals. Not to mention, I wrote it in 2011 when I was 17 years old. It needed work—a lot of work. The basic plot hasn't changed, but some elements have been added/removed.

It would be confusing for two versions of A Rat's Nest to be mixed together, so I deleted the old chapters from this website. All chapters under A Rat's Nest will be the new, edited versions. If you're interested in reading the original text (with my cringey Author's Notes and all), I copy and pasted it into a PDF for posterity. PM me for a link to the file.
