"Secrets" started as a fascination with the acting of Peter Firth and Nicola Walker, and how they could say so much with just a touch or a glance. It led me to believe that there was more to Harry and Ruth than met the eye on the show. "Secrets" is over 1200 pages, and no one is more surprised than I am. It started in my mind as an essay, then grew to a chapter, and on and on...I wrote it through the beginning of Series 8, and had thought I would write to the end of the series, but I believe I'll leave it just as it stands. I've been absolutely true to the show and the dialogue up to now, and I have no wish to deviate from that. "Secrets" has the happy ending I wished for Harry and Ruth. After all this time, those two deserve it, don't you think? Thank you for reading and for all of your wonderful reviews. I continue to come here and read them and they always make me feel proud and glad I took the time to write about our two favorite Spooks.

2017: Since what I wrote for Secrets was not ultimately mine to publish (as the characters and the situations belonged to Kudos and Spooks) I began to explore a way that I could transform some of what I wrote out of my own imagination and adapt it to a novel I could publish. I'm from the U.S., so I've written a full novel about a couple who work at a law firm in San Francisco and face many of the same challenges Harry and Ruth faced in their relationship. It evolved into a completely American novel and love story -- and those of you who have read "Secrets" will recognize some of the dialogue and especially the love scenes. Hope you'll give it a try!
