ONCE UPON A TWILIGHT CONTEST!

Once upon a time, in a magical land of pointy silverware, lived a family who sparkled like diamonds in the woods. A little fairy foresaw that love would blossom after the magnificent stone-skinned man rescued a fair damsel who had been cursed with tripping and attacks from vans enchanted with evil spells. Their adventures included encounters with monsters, the big bad wolf, the evil witch of Alaska, hidden castles in the tropics, strange potions given to the heroine in Styrofoam cups, and true love’s kiss that put her into a three day coma but led to happily ever after and a bizarre half breed baby.

Now Princess Wishimight (everwondering) and Princess Staceygirl (jackbauer) cordially invite thee to weave thine own tale of Happily Ever After in the ONCE UPON A TWILIGHT CONTEST. Thou mayest bring thine own fairies, wolves, princes, dragons, seven dwarfs, glass slippers, talking animals, candy houses, faraway kingdoms, spells, magic, and fair maidens to the land of Twilight. If thou art successful in thy quest, thou shalt be honored and esteemed and rewarded.

Stories MUST:
have Edward & Bella as the main pairing. Other Twilight characters may be included, of course, but focus should be on E&B.
have a fairy-tale esque quality/theme to them–maybe there’s a fairy godmother, evil stepmother, prince/princess, spell cast, curse to be lifted, enchanted forest, etc. These are suggestions only. Feel free to be creative!
be a one-shot of at least 1,000 words (minus header/author's notes) and written in English.

Stories CAN:
be any genre/type–angst, romance, suspense, humor, vampire/AU, human, in canon, out of character, etc.
be set either in the present day or in a faraway kingdom a long time ago, or somewhere in between.
be from any POV–Edward, Bella, alternating, third person.
be any rating from squeaky clean to citrus filled
be either a solo or a collaborative effort.

Stories CANNOT:
exceed 15,000 words (header/author's notes not included in word count.)
be part of a former or current story. This must be a brand new one-shot written for this contest.

ENTRY & VOTING DETAILS
Entries will be accepted between August 1st - August 20, 2009, 11:59pm PST. Please Note: I (wishimight) am a complete moron and originally put midnight, but I apparently don't know how to tell time because I meant the last possible second on the 20th (THURSDAY!)
Post your entry on fanfiction and then PM this profile, wishimight, or staceygirl aka jackbauer with your submission title so we can add it to the contest community and favorites. You may post your story elsewhere as well (twilighted, livejournal, etc), but it must also be on FF.
Authors may submit up to two separate entries.
Voting will be conducted by a blind poll on this profile page and will open on August 22, 2009 at noon PST. Depending on the number of entries, multiple voting rounds may be necessary.
