HELLO AND WELCOME TO MY PROFILE!

Okay...oh you're still here? I though the all-caps would make you run. Darn...

Anyway, my name is babbler and I live in northern Canada in an igloo on Lake Tasgesusydhcjcusupushucoupeousjkloue, which we call THE LAKE. In the summer I enjoy skating, ice fishing, and hanging out with caribou. In the winter I enjoy the bitter cold and fighting with polar bears. Just so you know they're tossers and hog the blankets...but don't tell them them I said that.

Still here...? I wanna go play with the polar bears! You're so mean making me write all this!

I love writing. Love it so much I want to marry it but right now it's the other woman and my muse isn't happy about that. Like all writers, I love to read voraciously. My parents did me a grand disservice in raising me in a happy well to do family. I mean we had it all. Extra fish heads to fight over with the dogs and even gauze when I got visciously mauled. That aforementioned disservice was instilling in me a love for drama. I never had drama growing up so now I love the drama! Hate drama queens but love the drama. I can scarcely crawl out of my igloo in the morning without plotting two foxes against each other in my head. If only I used all the brain power for good and not for the drama.

Mama said I should be an engineer. Plan a city. Build a bridge. Dad said I should be a teacher. Shape a mind. Grow the future. I found drama. Became unemployed...( I actually test the ice thickness on Lake Tasgesusydhcjcusupushucoupeousjkloue by forcefully smashing my skull against it and looking for cracks).

I like writing dark serious stories (though that may not be apparent from what I've written here). My biggest influences are Watchmen (the movie is crap), Calvin and Hobbes, The Boys, Empowered, Sailor Nothing (GOOGLE IT! READ IT! IT'S FREE!! It is excellent!), Berserk, and Black Lagoon. That's not all, but it's all all I could think of on short notice. Each of these series is dark (sans Calvin and Hobbes and even then there are interpretations that make it a little sadder) because I like series that aren't afraid to hurt their characters. Rough them up and make them beg for mercy. I HATE when authors take it easy on their characters! I don't mean letting them be happy but I do mean getting their wishes granted, epic buttpulls that keep them alive, or unnatural luck (unless it turns out to not be much luck at all).

With that being said I try and make a series realistic within the bounds already set for a story...unless it's AU and then all bets are off. I then hunker my characters with the real baggage that would come with a situation and let them seek out their own misery or happiness. Put into other words: give them enough rope to hang themselves.

I also like comedy. Baka no Test, anything Monty Python, and Blackadder are my favourites but I enjoy the funny as long as it's not dumb funny. To put it bluntly, humour is hard to write and I'm not sure how well I do writing it, but I do know that it wears me out.

Another thing of note is that in real life I'm quite laconic and this translates over into my writings so things that might be perfectly clear to me might not get enough attention in my writings and understanding will suffer. The polar bears don't appreciate my writing : ( and their advice always sucks so I appreciate reviews. If you feel the need to say something about my stories than that's probably a legitimate concern and I hope you'll share it with me.

I'm currently reading/watching/playing:

SNAFU and Kiniro Mosaic

Just added:

Chapter 5 of Light, Camera, Magical Lyrical Nanoha.

Working on:

I have no idea...trying to get something finished.
