![]() Author has written 2 stories for Twilight, and Dark Visions series. "Once upon a time we grew up on stories and the voices in which they were told, we need words to hold us, for the world to behold us, for us to truly know our own souls" --Taylor Mali Myself and I Hi, everyone. How i describe myself is simple. I'm an introvert. Yup, just your everyday, nose-in-a-book, sights-in-the-stars dreamer.I'm just a rookie writer who lives in a world where stories come true...the ones with the happily ever after endings, i mean...not the ones with Fred-dies-OH-MY-GOD!! kinda sad endings that make you want to rip out your insides...of course! But my imagination is a whole lotta crazy and I'll try to shield you from it as much as possible...no promises… But there are some stories that need to be remembered even if it is through a simple alternative retelling. And that's where I come in because I love books more than possibly anything else and I want to share my thoughts with you! Favourite books: Harry Potter --of course! Is anyone even surprised? I mean, it's Harry freaking Potter for goodness' sake!! Anyone who isn't totally in love with the series has obviously never read the books! Sempre --Read the book quite recently and fell in love with it!!! *fan girl squeal* I never understood the can't-put-it-down compliment that's given to books until I read this one! Seriously...I didn't even stop to eat food! Pride and Prejudice --many people don't get it at first but I love the irony of it all! The book is hilarious and the author an inspiration for women all around! Dark Visions --one word--Gabriel!! *drools* You ask me if there was ever any character from a book, movie, tv show, manga or wherever else that I'd want brought to life and it would always be Gabriel!! Always! Switchers --In all honesty, I don't know what it is about this story but it tugs on my heartstrings (I know, cheesy) I think maybe it's the whole concept of jumping into an adventure that leads you further than you ever thought you could go...the possibility that a monotonous existence one second could just suddenly turn into one of excitement the next...the courage, the love, the journey...take your pick. Howl's Moving Castle --It was, is and always will be a constant reminder to me that all people have their greeds, that all are plagued by unseen tragedies and that, given love and (more importantly) the opportunity to love, they can always change into someone that'll surprise you! (: Mortal Instruments --As an avid reader, no matter how perfectly a book is written, it is always possible for me to guess what's gonna happen next. It doesn't mean the book is bad really...it's just that I'm accustomed to how a certain plot will play out. In this series, however, I had no freaking clue!! It's like just when you start thinking that the story is going in one direction, it does a back-flip that leaves your mouth hanging! Plus...you know...Jace... Iron Fey --Besides the plot being really amazing, I loved how the characters all seemed to mature as the story went on. Meghan was this total sissy-pants who goes on to become an inspiration to her people. Ash is this cold hearted, emotionally closed, sexy badass who later turns into a warm hearted, emotionally available...sexy badass! :P And then there's Grim who just brings the whole series together...I would absolutely love having a cat...ahem, sorry, grimaulkin...like him around! If given the chance, I could go on and on with this list because there's always something in each book...a dialog, a phrase, an emotion...that'll change you forever. But I won't bore you. These eight had to be mentioned because they have all, in their own way, altered the way I view the world and I hope that if there are books here you haven't read, you'll give them a chance because they're worth it! What's new: 1/7/13 Well, I've written 6 stories up to date, two of which I've posted here and I'm working on a new one that I've fallen in love with before it's even on paper! It's a fic based on Dark Visions (which, like I've said, is one of my favourite books eveeeeeeer!!!) and I really hope you'll like it. It'll be on sometime in the summer and when it is, I really hope you'll read and review! 27/2/14 So, I finished the new DV fic but decided to post it on wattpad as an oiginal story: Reflections of the past. Do check it out. Here's a link to my page: http:///user/amberlight --My love to all of you who've read my stories in the past! You guys rock! =) |
