Author has written 11 stories for Harry Potter. Hi! George & Annie was a project very near and dear to my heart. I love JKR's wonderful books, and all her great characters, but the Weasley twins were my favorite from the get-go. I guess I'm just a sucker for a smart-ass (which becomes clear when you get to know my husband). The story is pretty much canon compliant, so if you haven't read all the books in the series, please be warned you will be exposed to spoilers in my story! Suffice it to say that I felt sorry for George at the end of Deathly Hallows, and decided he deserved something better. So… enter Annie Jones! The story took a little more than 4 months to write. It is complete, 62 chapters long, and close to 350,000 words. I absolutely adore reviews so please be generous with them! As for me: I'm a bored (but happy) housewife, mother of two little boys (ages 12 and 6), and was playing around with the idea of writing as a vocation when I wrote George & Annie as a sort of "practice" novel, just to see if I could pull it off. I am now in the process of writing completely original stories, so any constructive criticism regarding my writing is more than welcome! Please please please read and review, and above all, hope you enjoy! Shanyn Update: I am periodically posting up little one-shot companion pieces to George & Annie. All of them are sort-of outtakes from the original story - either bits I didn't include at the time for some reason, or things I've thought to add since. All of them really do assume you've read the original novel, so if you're confused about a character or relationship or motivation, the answer's probably in there! Enjoy! Update #2 - as of May 2011, I've completed a spin-off story about Charlie and Sasha called Here Be Dragons. I'll be posting a chapter a week until it's totally posted. It's also being posted on and . FYI, the George & Annie story is also archived at both sites, but the version at The Petulant Poetess is far more polished, with all the "outtakes" filled in as chapters where they belong. It's also rated higher than allows. Thanks for reading! Update #3 - December 2011 I'm very excited to release an original work of fiction, Old Enough to Know Better, about a fanfiction writer who falls for an actor who plays her favorite fictional character. It's a fun, steamy, dramatic contemporary romance. The 500-page book is only $2.99 in e-format and $12 (plus shipping) printed from CreateSpace. Update #4- October 2012... I've just released my second novel, Nine Dates! Selected as a finalist for the 2011 Valley Forge RWA's Sheila Award, Nine Dates isn't your average ménage-a-trois tale. The first book in a planned trilogy, this story follows the three main characters as they initiate a loving, lasting triad bond. The 300-page book is only $2.99 in e-format and $10 (plus shipping) printed from CreateSpace. For every sale of Nine Dates throughout October 2012, in every format and from every vendor, I will be donating 100% of my royalties to one n ten, a local organization supporting LGBTQ teens struggling with bullying and suicidal thoughts. One n ten recently won a Swagger award for their innovative program, Q High, providing a safe, accepting place for LGBTQ teens (many of whom are dropouts and/or homeless) to earn a high school diploma online. They also empower teen peers via training in a suicide prevention program, Sources of Strength. Please feel free to share this information as widely as you can. I also encourage you to visit one n ten's website, see for yourself the wonderful things this organization offers, and consider making a donation. Update #5- January 2013... Another new novel: Brimstone! Winner of the 2012 Desert Rose RWA's "Realizing the Dream" contest, Brimstone is the first book in a paranormal suspense series. The tale centers on a young woman, Amanda Ryder, whose ESP gifts aren't appreciated by her pious family. Kicked out of the house on her 18th birthday, Amanda makes her way to New Orleans, where she's accidentally "discovered" by a covert paranormal crime-fighting team. This 300-page book is only $2.99 in e-format and $10 (plus shipping) printed from CreateSpace. All my books are available at .
