Author has written 3 stories for Inception, Tin Man, and Doctor Who. Hey, its Bluebird's Grace! I'm female, live in the US, and you can call me whatever you wish. Birdie would be nice, but I'll answer to about anything. A word on my pieces: Chance: This was the first completed story I've written in nearly forever. And I do mean completed- its done, and it would be wrong to try to do more to it. The cafe Arthur is reading at when he sees Ariadne is the same one from Ariadne and Cobb's shared dream when he first teaches her the ropes. I managed, unintentionally, to never refer to anyone by their name. Chance was actually written in two days- one day in a two or three hour sitting and another day of typing and revising. It was my first attempt at a present tense story, which made it harder than it should have been to write. I'm overall very satisfied with this piece, and I didn't listen to music while writing it. A Lack of Obedience: Ah, Tin Man. I've always been a bit dissatisfied with the way the miniseries ended, and this just felt right. No music while I wrote it, and the piece is completed. In my mind, Ambrose was never a "stuffed shirt", at least not where Princess DG was concerned, and Princess DG's childhood was not quite as innocent as the miniseries paints it. She made mischief and made a lot of it, and Ambrose (a very young man, maybe 13 when DG was born, a child prodigy and already Adviser to the Queen) was often left to clean up her messes. He never could resist those big, blue eyes. Retreat: I love Rose and Nine. That's the simplest way of putting it: I love Rose and Nine. There dynamic is lovely and Nine, while not my favorite Doctor or even my first, holds a special place in my heart. This is one of the first times I've really attempted to keep the nuances of the character's speech- dropping g's and d's when appropriate. I'm not sure how other people will respond, but I'm rather pleased. I wrote this piece in six sessions after midnight over a week with no music, so if some of the ideas don't connect and you can't just blame the Doctor, I accept all responsibility. I am a massive Doctor Who fan, and I do plan to write more for the fandom. |
