about us

We began as a small community of D/G fanfiction writers in November of 2008, brought together by rowan-greenleaf's "Ginny Draws Draco" challenge.

Currently we welcome fans and writers of all Harry Potter fanfiction pairings, but we remain a shrine for the most sacred ship: Draco and Ginny.

our purpose

To preserve the craft of D/G fanfiction writing. To provide D/G related writing challenges. (see below) To serve as a source of high quality Harry Potter and non Harry Potter fanfiction recommendations - with emphasis on D/G centric fics. To serve as a place where D/G and other HP fans can interact. (And by "interact" we mean: get sorted into one of the four Houses and wreak havoc on the other three. u_u)

The DG Forum Fic Exchange - Summer 2018: our tenth exchange! Writers issue a D/G centric fic prompt and write a fic for someone else's. The process is anonymous until the best fics are chosen by poll.

Short Writing Challenges: D/G writing challenges with a deadline of less than 3 weeks.

Long Writing Challenges: D/G writing challenges with a deadline of 3-6 weeks.

Open Writing Challenges: D/G writing challenges without a deadline.

One Sentence Story: A three word prompt is given for a one sentence D/G "story".

2012 Christmas Gift Fic Exchange: write a Christmas themed fic in response to a 3 word prompt issued in Secret Santa style. (response: 11 fics)

The Battle of the Drabbles: Five rounds of drabbles where participants slug it out (anonymously) with their pens and imaginations to be crowned the most awesome author overall.

The DG Forum Fic Exchange - Fall 2011: Our fifth exchange. Writers issue a D/G centric fic prompt and write a fic for someone else's. The process is anonymous until the best fics are chosen by poll. (response: 22 fics)

The DG Forum Fic Exchange - Winter 2010-11: Our fourth exchange. Writers issue a D/G centric fic prompt and write a fic for someone else's. The process is anonymous until the best fics are chosen by poll. (response: 20 fics)

The Round Robin Challenge: Writers form small teams, plot a story to write collaboratively, and then write the story in drabble-length segments, round robin style. Finished projects edited and posted by The DG Forum.

100 Drabbles in 100 Days: Given a list of short (mostly one-word) prompts, writers aspire to write one hundred drabbles of 400 words or less for one hundred days.

Boogum's Random Prompt One-shot Challenge: Writers submit a one-shot (2,000 words or less), written around one of seven standard prompts. (response: 6 fics)

One Sentence Story Drabble: (300 words or less). Writers choose a sentence out of the over 300 that are available at the One Sentence Story thread and expand it as they choose.

2009 DG Christmas Fic Challenge: write a D/G centric fic for the prompt: snow, Christmas decorations in the Great Hall, mistletoe and a kiss on the lips. (response: 10 fics)

Save-a-life Drabble Challenge: write a D/G centric drabble (500- 2,000 words) in which Draco or Ginny saves the other from a potentially life-threatening situation. Must include the line: "I'll do whatever it takes to keep you alive". (response: 4 drabbles)

Ginny Draws Draco Fic Challenge: write a D/G centric fic in which Ginny draws a sketch or painting of Draco that he eventually ends up seeing. (response: 20 fics)
