About Me: I write for enjoyment - I find it fulfilling. I hope to make a career of it eventually, but I'm looking to make many, MANY improvements. I play videogames a lot and figure a fanfic is great practice for my writing. I like a lot of thrash, speed and progressive metal, I think the shit is great and I love listening to it while I write, but more recently my tastes have expanded to more modest music. I also like old-school rap and good old rock n roll and even blues and funk. Music is a big part of my creative process; with the right tune I can write happy or sad or angry and that way I can get rid of a lot of emotional baggage - it makes me feel pretty good! I played bass for about 2 years before I realized I loved drums so much more, but both are awesome. I'm just here for the love of writing, so feel free to contact me if you've got any tips for me or just want to shoot the shit.

Fav Music: Tool, Megadeth, Marty Friedman, Racer X (or any Paul Gilbert), Death, Dream Theater, Iron Maiden, Lamb of God, Liquid Tension Experiment, Misery Signals, Matthew Good, Pantera, Porcupine Tree, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Rush, Van Halen, Ben Harper, Linkin Park (Hybrid Theory and Meteora, NOTHING ELSE), The Black Mages (mainly Uematsou), Michael Franti, Incubus, blink182, Daft Punk, Alice in Chains, Pink Floyd, and that crazy bastard Steve Vai.

Film and TV: Trailer Park Boys, Breaking Bad, Dexter, Sons of Butcher (short-lived Canadian toon that was hilarious), The Ultimate Fighter, dropping $60 for UFC events (-.-), boxing, K-1, PrideFC/Best of, Gundam Wing, Guyver (circa 1989 or w/e), Akira, Princess Mononoke. A lot of horror movies (shitty and high quality alike), The Evil Dead series, American Psycho, The Shining, Platoon, Saving Private Ryan, Full Metal Jacket, Taxi Driver, Narc, I'm going on a stream of consciousness here, The Thing, American History X, the films of James Cameron before Titanic, Avatar was... ok. It ends there for now.

Literature: I'm a big admirer of Steven King's style of writing- the way he uses slang and informal techniques in disturbing contexts is beyond my capability. The Mezzanine is the best book I've read in uni so far. Funny biographies like Black Tooth Grin (Dimebag Darrel) or Got Fight? (Forrest Griffin, not really a biography though...) I like scanning the shelves for strange horror/fantasy/sci-fi type shit, and as a kid I collected Spawn comics... I'm sorry if you're a fan but I just couldn't fucking get into Harry Potter, and I tried for so long as a kid only to realize I was wasting my time.

Vidja Games: The first game I played was Sonic The Hedgehog 2, and I liked those games on the Sega Genesis until I found the internet... that is best not spoken of (this site is partly at fault). Final Fantasy until I'm dead, Resident Evil, Silent Hill, Legend of Dragoon, Gunstar Heroes, Shadow Hearts, Devil May Cry, Xenosaga, Dark Cloud, Grandia (I&II) and Rock Band because I'm too musical- I can't resist a music-based game. Playing Call of Duty right now and just finished Vanquish.
