![]() Author has written 7 stories for Batman, Justice League, Lollipop Chainsaw, Wrestling, and Glee. My ultimate dream is to be a comic book writer. How can I do that, when there are many hindrances in the way of my dream? First off, I live in the Philippines, so if I actually become a comic book writer, I'd have to leave my home country (we're talking about writing for an American comic book company like DC, Marvel or Dark Horse here). Second, I suck at writing. Yes, I do. If most people I know look at my work, they'll fill me with praise. But, truth is, this is mediocre writing. I'm having difficulty detailing scenes in my stories (most especially fight scenes). I don't use big words in my writing. But collecting comic books are my hobby, they're my passion. I save money from my allowance every day just to have enough money to buy comics. I drop by the comics store every month. Whenever it's my brithday or whenever it's Christmas, I get bills as gifts and I get around P5,000 (around $100) and I always... ALWAYS bug my mom to take me to the bookstore so I can spend a portion of my money on graphic novels or TPBs. Comics have pretty much taken over a huge part of my life. I started collecting comics when I was in seventh grade and haven't stopped, and I never will. I realized my dream to be a comics writer not too long after I started collecting comics. Call it anything you want, all I know is that it's my life. My collection will get bigger over time, and my dream of being a writer will be either more and more clear or blurry over time as well. For now, I'm trying to improve my writing, and hopefully it'll be as good as the writers I idolize. And, hopefully, I'll get to live my dream. My ultimate dream. Even when there are many hindrances in the way of my dream. I'll keep on trying. :) STATUS UPDATE (May 29, 2014): Lost motivation to continue Retribution due to Punk leaving WWE. Now, severely crippled thanks to Bryan's current situation. Sorry to all I let down, but I'll get back to the story when I have the chance. On the DC side of things, I have a "reimagined origins" series in the same vein as Dark Knight Meets Boy Wonder called DC Geneses which I will be publishing very shortly. (January 28, 2014): Just watched the Royal Rumble, and with that Retribution can continue. (November 23, 2013): Published my first-ever WWE fanfic, which will be an ongoing titled Retribution. (September 23, 2013): WOW, I haven't been here for so long. How's everybody doing? I'm back with two new stories, Harleen which is a planned ongoing for Harley Quinn, and Juliet and Nick: New Year Blues, a one-shot which is based off Lollipop Chainsaw. I'm planning on rebooting Dark Knight Meets Boy Wonder (my reimagined Batman and Robin story I wrote three years ago)and am entertaining ideas to establish a universe for them once I get the time! (July 11, 2011): Planning to release a 25-chapter DC Comics fanfic, encompassing the Break series in terms of project volume. Might be delayed due to schoolwork. (Break is planned to have a main story with eight chapters, plus two tie-in stories with four chapters each, totalling 16). (June 14, 2011): Schoolwork getting in the way. Crossover postponed. Sorry. :( (May 31, 2011): Started a crossover fic between Batman and Glee. I'm excited how this will turn out! (May 13, 2011): Just turned sixteen this week! Yey! (December 12, 2010): Holiday season upon us. Haven't had enough time to write fics, since I'm busy with schoolwork. But I'll try to write one story before the year ends. (September 19, 2010): Decided to delete all unfinished stories and start a clean slate. Completed a fanfic reimagining Robin (Dick Grayson, Dark Knight Meets Boy Wonder) and its sequel (Dark Knight and Boy Wonder) is currently in the works. |
